well, i put in my 2 front Tokico D-spec struts yesterday, and as soon as i put them in and dropped the car down off the jacks, i turned the car on, and The Trac off, ABS, and service lights came on. i tried disconnecting the battery to reset the computer, but the lights came right back on.
i cant figure out what the hell these lights would have to do with the replacing of struts. Ive taken struts out of the car to put in lowering springs before, and had nothing like this. anyone have an answer as to what it could be? the brakes work fine, nothing feels different. im soo confused.
can someone please help me out, my inspection is due this month, and i'll definately fail with all these lights on. ANY help is appreciated.

now what does your manual tell you about disconnecting the battery before you do any maintenance? disconnect it, lol
check the connectors for the brake sensors. fuses, I dunno, just hate to see ya hanging there.

ya, i prolly should have disconnected the battery while doing it, but i usually only do that for things like electrical work, or brake work, etc, but i prolly shoulda anyways. might have saved me this frustration

check the wheel sensors.

how exactly do i "check them"?
i know they are the little nubs with the rubber covers on em. both those rubber covers fell off durring install. could that be the problem? i find it hard to believe that those rubber covers falling off could ruin the sensors, but i guess with GM you never know, lol. is it maybe something got in those sensors while the rubber covers were off or something?

the nubs with covers are the brake bleeders...
the wheel sensors should have wires going to them and are plastic.
hmmm, ok, that changes things a bit. hmm, i guess ill try and pull the wheels in the morning and see whats up. any ideas on other things to check while i have the wheels off?
ps - Event, i was thinking about sending you this post, like 30 seconds before i checked it, and low and behold, there was your reply, lol. thanks

Well if it is you engine light i personally would ride on over to auto zone and and ask them the scan the car to see what code or codes are being thrown. Then ask them to turn the light off.
its not the Check Engine Light, but the Service light, which dosent always refer to engine

it sounds like you accidentally damaged, disturbed or disconnected some sensors
Yep. Somehow one of the sensors is messed up. If you can't tell which one just by looking at them, then you're going to have to bring it in to get the codes scanned.
is it somewhat normal to damage those sensors? im hoping one is just unplugged or something.

Hopefully it's just the plug that's disconnected on one. Otherwise probably a broken wire (check for continuity on each wire back to the control module. Just some thoughts on what could have broke the abs sensor...
A direct shot of WD-40 will short them if it doesn't dry by the time you turn the car on. If you separate the halfshaft from the knuckle you can accidentally smack them. You can also break the cables by accidentally straining them with the bottom of the strut when you're beefing stuff into place. If you removed any of the splash shields or the control arm you could have stretched the wires.
You could have smashed the brake line too, but I think you'd notice that.
