reflash help ASAP
Sunday, March 12, 2006 7:15 PM
alrighty, well the supercharger is all hooked up and now all i need is to have the reflash. I decided to remove the computer instead of having the car towed. so i pulled out what i believe to be the computer from under the drivers side dash. its labeled Delphi Automotive Systems- BCM/RFA. if this isn't it can somebody help me find what i need. Sorry about the blurry photos, my camara sucks

Also i used up all the parts from the box except one. anybody know what this cable is for.

its kind of hard for me to take my car to the dealer unless i want to pay 80 bucks to get it towed. the closest dealer is in another city.

Well, pull the front bumper off, look under the fender in front of the tire. You'll see where all the wires go up into a box, there should be two bolts, one at the top and one at the bottom. Undo those and it should drop out. Then there is a bolt in the center of the two clips, undo those and the clips will come out.

well for 1 , your safe to drive to the dealer with out the reflash , just make sure your full of 91 or better , add some octane boost also

just dont put the 2bar map in untill the reflash is done

99% of the dealers do not have the special tools for programing the PCM off the car , mostly because they were to cheap to buy 1 plus , there is no way of knowing if it will work or not

i was reading the book that if you turn the car on without the reflash it will void your warrenty on the charger. And by 2bar map you mean the new map sensor they give you, becuase ive already hooked that up.

just drive to the fealer with everything hooked up and the bypass valve held open with string ar a ziptie. get your car reeflashed and cut the string/ziptie, then drive away happy.

You piad an ass load for a supercharger but you won't spend another $80 to have the car towed?

Before going to the effort of removing the PCM, at least call every dealership you intend to get to flash it for you and ask them if they can do it outside the car. As mentioned above... you may not find one that can do it.

This is where it's good to have friends at a dealer. As mentioned, you can leave the old MAP sensor in place and just zip tie open the bypass valve and the car is perfectly safe to drive. Just don't lay into it and there's no issue at all. With that in mind... so long as your friends at the dealer don't go telling anyone it was driven instead of towed, there's no warranty issue.

yeah you guys were right i called them and they don't have the tools to do the flash outside the car. so im having it towed this afternoon.

So does anybody know why i ended up with an extra wiring?

I have no idea what that wire is. It doesn't seem familiar to me.

It came in the GM kit??
