I know that there is going to be a twin charge system coming out soon from GM. But just out of curiousity...
Would it be possible to get the GM ecotec SC setup and the Saab 9-3 turbo setup and be able to hook both of them up simutaneously on to an ecotec? Thus creating a twin charged system.
No for your first statement. Yes for your second.

What is the obsession that people have to a s/c and a t/c on the same engine. If you really want twin charger why not just run two turbos?

Yes it can be done. There are some production cars that are stock this way. Is it worth the trouble/$$$ no not what so ever.
I guess for a ideal setup you would use a roots style blower for lowend torque then a big turbo that would give you power from the midrange up. But for the $$$ you would spend building a setup like that you'd be much wiser to just build a badass T/C engine/setup.

actually i just read an article on autoweek about this, VW is going to be releasing a supercharged/turbocharged engine for the Golf next year. Its a 1.6L engine making almost 200HP. They are also going to do the same setup with the 1.8L and 2.0L. I think they said the 1.6L would get like 45 MPG.

If one of us with the GM S/C were to add on a turbo to bring boost up to around 12 psi in the higher RPM's... wouldn't that be an easy enough solution to do the plumbing for?
200 hp.. thats it after turbo and sc? But that high of mileage is impressive definetely.
Yea I assumed it would cost alot to do. I was just curious if it was possible. I wasn't actually thinking of doing it. The thought ran across my mind so I wanted to ask.
Thanks
