double checking

just wanted to double check that 17x7" rims with a 40mm offset will be fine on my cav.

im 99% sure its ok, but figured id double check with the tire gurus. thx in advance

and this im not sure about. will 205/40/17 tires be ok?

I'd say, yes on the offset.. And a big NO on the tire size.. Shoot for 215/45's, even though a 205 will be just fine on a 7'" wide rim, I prefer the 215's.. 40 series will throw off your speedo...

I'd go with 225/45 for performance but 215/45 is perfectly fine. If you wanted narrow tires for some reason (no idea why you'd want narrower tires for the summer) then you'd have to go with 205/50.
