Getting some conflicting info on this from friends. Also I notice when I searched for "wheel offset" some people said it's too small and others said they have it and it's fine, so I'm curious. Is a 35mm too small an offset for 17x7.5" wheels with 225/45/17 tires? From what I heard anything between 35 and 45 should be fine, but some people said since the wheel is wider I should go higher maybe 45mm (but I'd probably be more worried about rubbing on the inside then). The rim I'm looking at only comes in 35mm offset though and I was liking that baby.
thats what i run, is a 17x7.5 with 225/45/17 tires and i don't rub or anything, its perfect for me

For most people it will fit fine. For some it will rub. It depends on your suspension and your specific car.
Not all cars are created the same and the build tolerances are pretty loose. They'd definitely rub on my car if I lowered it down a bit but might not on yours.
