Finally found 'em...gauge bezels for 00-up sunfire
Sunday, June 12, 2005 8:08 AM
I'm excited that I finally found these for my '02 sunfire. I've wanted to get one, but could only find them up to '99s. Looks like they have plenty of them left with 3 style options. Can't wait to get one.
Here's the Ebay link:

I'm confused cant you just take off the stock one and paint it like with the cavalier?

I ordered one from them for the cavalier. Fitment on it was really really bad. But the sunfire fitment might be better. I just wanted to let you guys know my experience with them. BTW they also gave me bad feedback after I wrote that fitment was bad. What a bunch of losers.

I ordered mine yesterday, $16.49 with shipping. Can't beat those under $20 mods . I just hope it fits good, otherwise I'll be very sad . I also hope it gets here before Saturday (I'm leaving for Florida), otherwise I'll have to wait 'til I come back on the 28th and that will suck. I would really like to have something nice to look at on that long drive . Thanks again for the link Caleb .

Do you have pics? What was bad about the fitment?

So I have an extra gauge cluster lying around and I am going to be shipping it out to someone from The Org. I got it out today to find out how much shipping would be and I decided I would take the clear plastic cover off just to see how I will go about installing the new bezel. Well... I discovered what could be a problem... I am not sure if any of you realize this, but the factory bezel is attached to the clear plastic cover meaning the new bezel is not going to simply be "plug-n-play." It seems as though the new bezel may be able to be slid up and over the existing one, but I won't know for sure until I get the new one obviously. If it can't simply be slid up and over, then the only other solutions I could think of would be to cut the factory bezel out or get the clear plastic cover from the older Sunfires (if they are the same size) that didn't have factory bezels. If anyone else has any ideas, feel free to post away. Hopefully mine will be here within the next couple days and I can start playing around with it. Who knows... maybe it will come with instructions that will solve this problem for us .

been a year or so since ive took mine apart, but most likely have to heat it up a bit then take an exacto to the clear cover cutting the glued part away so u can pull the cover off.

No issue for me. I plan on putting the aluminum in BEHIND the black factory plastic, so it's only showing around the edges.

Similar to this...

The sunfire gauges are so close to the factory plastic that you wouldnt hardly see the aluminum. The cavaliers have a large space between the gauges and the plastic.

That's fine. I like subtle.

And the pic on the auction shows the aluminum slightly overlapping the edges of the gauges so I'm sure it'll be visible. And the plastic goes straight across the top while the aluminum comes down in a little peak.

So then it seems as though the best solution would be to just heat up the clear plastic cover and then remove it and install the new bezel over the top of the factory one? I wonder if it comes with double sided tape on the back of it? If it doesn't, I wonder how well it will stay in place. Oh well, I guess I'll find out when I get home on the 29th. I guess it was just shipped out yesterday or something, so I'm sure by the time I get home and get mine, you guys will have already had yours installed. You better post pictures and a how to when you go get them installed .

I was just wondering if any of you have gotten and/or installed your bezels yet? I am hoping mine will be waiting for me at the Post Office tomorrow. I'll keep you guys updated. Thanks. Take care.

Just got mine today. It was sitting at a friend's place for a little while.

I'll probably get a chance to install it on Wednesday and will post some pics.

Put mine in last night but didn't get pics yet.

I kinda wish the lines surrounding the tach/speedo were a little thicker so they'd show around the stock ones all the way down. Regardless, it looks pretty stylish in there. I may trim the black a little but probably won't be bothered. Fits in nicely with the rest of my interior.

I got mine this morning! I will be installing it later on today. I will try to get pictures up as soon as possible tomorrow. I am going to remove the clear plastic from the factory bezel so I can install the new one on top of the factory one. I know it's going to look great and best of all it will be installed just in time for the Bash!
