window regulator replacement

I currently have a autoloc power window kit using the original manual crank windows.. Instead of covering up the post that goes thru the door, i was wondering if instead, i could remove the manual part of the window regulator, and replace it with a gm power window regulator.. from looking at all the parts, it looks like the scissors are the same, and that the actual device that cranks the window is different, and since you can buy a regulator without the scissors, shouldnt it bolt right up? has anyone tried this before?

I think that if you want to buy a power window regulator from GM, you get the entire thing, with motor attached, and it costs you a mint!

I was thinking more of just buying the motor from the autoparts store, they sell replacement motors, that look like they just rivet in.. and using the regulator (scissors assembly) from my manual windows...
