Firebird seats will fit our cars right?
Thursday, October 06, 2005 2:29 PM
Just curious about the size and ease of installation for our cars from a Firebird/Transam. I dont want psycho racing seats, I basically want seats that bolt right in and have good lumbar support. As of now, my seats are the ones that come with a basemodel and have no lumbar support. My back was slaughtered by my non-lumbar support seats in my camaro and I'm thinking it would be a good investment to get seats that will help my back. And yes my back problems are pretty bad.

Thanks

I am with you. I have abase model Cavalier and am looking for some different seats to install. I drive my car from Oklahoma to Illinois about twice per year, and after 500 miles my back and legs are killing me. I would like to find some better seats out there.

i dont know if prelude seats would work but they are awesome.
transam seats with lumbar support are awesome too.
i know long trips in those seats would be healthy.

i would also like to get leather seat covers for them and my back seats. i dont like original leather with the maintenance needed. i would like to slip some seat covers over my front and back seats that have red on them to match my car. just want to spice up the style and ride some...

my friends vw rabbit has seats that hug your love handles like no other.

i would love power vette seats because you can adjust how much they hold on to you.

So, exactly what seats will fit into a J-Body vehicle?

I was under the impression that most GM seats will fit into our cars. This has been discussed several times so do a search and see what you come up with. I remember seeing that the GA seats will fit.

i had a 83' trans am with ripped seats and ended up at the scrap yard looking for seats i found 95' cav seats and the frame runners lined up perfect.. but i had more room between the console then before so in your case just in would be the other way around try removing the pass side seat and go to who ever is selling them and try a quick fit some seat all you have to do is change the runners maybe drill some new holes in the other seats runners it the best way i know to save a couple of bucks good luck!

I remember a discussion about this a few months ago...the F body seats supposedly fit perfect and good news for some of us..they sit damn low too...I'm goin to do this as soon as I get some extra cash soon and get some Katskin leather...will let everyone know if there is any interest at that time...

I was considering putting some 1g eclipse seats in my cavy, they always fit me really well when i was driving the eclipse cant imagine they'd be any worse than those nasty cavy seats. man i'm tellin ya after about 500 miles your body just starts to reject those seats.

Has anyone done a conversion for the rear seat as well? I think that the rear seats would looks cool in there. Also does anyone have pics of the camaro/firebird seats and if so what year or generation?
