Third gens cupholder SUCK ASS
I cannot fit a motor cup in my car(05) because the radio bezel is in teh way...so sure I decide to fold down my arm rest and put my 42 ounces of delicious Dr Pepper in there.
So i turn a corner and the g force and gravity laws took over spilling my 42 ounces of delicious Dr. Pepper in my back seat...
So i'm driving while trying to shift gears, assess the damage to the back of my seat,Xbox, and carpeting..Meanwhile I run into a curb(no damage)
So If the person whom had the great idea of not putting the cupholder into the change holder thing like LS sports and other cavalier have is on here I'd like to fly out and play RO-SHAM-BO with you and I'll go first for all my troubles
Yeah J's weren't designed the greatest. When I had my sunfire it didn't even technically have a cupholder, I had to use the ashtray spot and most things didn't even fit there unless it was a can.
Meanwhile my grand am has 4 of them

umm dont you think you should atleast hold onto something like that when your turning a corner? thats just asking for trouble.
i refuse to use my cupholders in my car. i just hold in my lap while i shift
well i have found that the cubby in the center consle works well for a cup ho;der for the larger drinks. Although i have never had a problem with the normal one for soft drinks..phil

my last car was a grand am and it had plenty of cupholders...the only one that works is the one that fits in the change holder INSIDE the center console

Are you saying that you don't have the big cup holder inside the center console? All 2k+ j's have the same center console. There are FIVE cup holders.
If you're missing the 5th one, which hooks onto the change holders under the arm rest and is made to hold a giant cup, then someone poached it from your car.
i have an extra one if thats the case.....
my 05 fire is the samn damn way it sucks balls.
damn the 00+ i only have 3 cup holders and only one is actually usable as a cup holder
Hmm... I have 2 by the shifter, one that hooks to the change thing in the arm rest, and two built into the under side of the arm rest (for rear passangers). I think it's alot better than my stang... which has 0 cupholders.
Yea the cupholder on the lid of the center console will hold a can of anything like a champ (so I've seen). Anything bigger forget about it. The cupholder inside the actual center console (not the lid) is always my first choice. Then the one in front of the radio (or I let my passenger have the center one and I hold mine).

my s10 had none. well ,it had 2 the mounted in between my 60/40 seats, but you would have to skip 2nd, 4th and Reverse. otherise you would crush your can

Yeah my G/f's 02 ls cavalier has the center console one that slides into the change holder and I love it when i drive her car..my car doesnt have one tho?
when i bought my '03 it was supposed to come with 4 (no console cup holder), but my salesman didn't realize it until after he went and got one for me to put in there. of course he didn't care, just said to think of it as a gift.... i guess the base models aren't supposed to have them.... how much could that even cost to add in there as stock?
I did the same thing a few months ago, only it was a 32oz coke

If you need help brandon... my mom is a neat freak and bought the strongest steam cleaner she could buy. It will take anything out of the carpet.
i got 5 cupholders, but no ashtray........ wuzzup with that!!!
i ended up having to get one of those ashtrays that fit inside a cupholder, it lights up a pretty blue YAY !!!!

42oz cup and cornering, big no-no!
At least you guys got cupholders! Us 2nd genners dont have squat! We have to open up the center console to put cups in it, and they wont fit much larger than a soda can!
