I have been trying for a very long time to remove my stock shifter knob and it is a pain in the ass and the knob is so ugly and uncommfortable.
look on the front of the knob (toward the dash). you will see an indentation. take like a little screwdriver or something tiny and pop out the u shaped clip. then it will either pull off or you will have to unscrew it.
SIG coming to an org near you!!!
thnx, the knob is a pain in my ass and there was like no one i knew who could remove it.
2000 plus does not have the U clip. He has a 2000 Cavalier, and the knobs are pressed onto the shaft with a good dose of glue. Just keep twisting and pulling. They're a real bitch. Be careful not to bloody your nose when the knob finally does pop off. Spoken from experience, you'll see!
Gotta keep on livin', L-I-V-I-N
yea miine was hard to come off... the glue is some sticky @!#$. but once i got it off, i threw in the b&m short throw and it does make a great deal of difference.
