My blower motor only seems to work on the 2 high speeds, #3 & #4 but not on the first two speeds. Any ideas ? Do I need a new blower motor or could it be the small circuit board that is attached to the blower motor ? Any help would be greatly appreciated .
Thanks,
Andy
its the little circuit board behind it, its call the blower motor resistor. its a very common problem with 3rd gen. cavs and sunfire. there is a sticky in the maintenance forum i thin kthat explains everything

Its the chip inside the blower, take the blower out and then take the 2 screws out of the chip under the passenger side dash, i had this problem b4. just pick one up at the junkyard for a buck.
You may have a good lookin Cavi, But is it a Z24?

Hey,
Thanks, guys. I did find it when I did another search. It did not show up the first time, not sure why. But thanks for all the help, I really appreciate it. I'll try one of the local junkyards first. The blower motor was very easy to get out. Thanks again
Andy
i just changed out mine myself at 55k on my 02...very simple. 3 bolts for the blower motor...5.5mm socket.
same socket for the 2 bolts holding the resistor in. i had to cut away some of the foam under it so i could get at the back bolt tho. cost me about 15 bucks from the dealer....was cheaper than from pep boys!
