These are shots from early today....
The enigne as it sits on the stand getting ready to be hosed and belted.
Ball bearing turbos and forged internals are sexy!
Not a whole lot of room left between the front bumper and... anything. 4" thick intercooler, 2.5" thick radiator.
Just wiring of the fan.. runs idependant of the computer and ignition.
That's all for now.... Tomorrow I should have pictures up of the trans and all bolted together.
The engine should be in later this week.
She's going to the Exploited shop for the equal length turbo header right after Christmas!
Enjoy the pictures.

I WANNA RACE TOO GUYS!! HAHA. WAIT FOR ME!
Just saw the car over the weekend......sleeper is a good word for it, a monster would probably suit it better. Definatelly going to be sick.
^^Ferrari isn't actually waiting for you... he just can't go any faster than that.

looks awesome.
i think you should paint the engine bay before everything goes back in.
Looking good. Keep us updated
I just did some of the painting in the engine bay. I'm not doing a super job on it because my car will be ugly no matter what I do....... awesome stuff though. Pictures soon.

Now that looks like that will be some fun
So I finally decided to take the oil pan off of my old enging to bolt it up so I can run my oil return to it....... I don't see how I could possibly have spun a bearing with the high quality and color of the sludge that was in the old pan.
A few friends came by today and helped me clean and paint some parts. I've been working my ass off.. It was nice to have some helping hands.
But.. they got a little excited:
I should have some pictures of the completed MSD/ignition wiring today... as well as hopefully transmission pictures as I take the engine off the stand and load it onto my engine hoist!
BTW..... I also started wiring up the nitrous system.

I need a heated garage. Badly.
Nice, quality work without a doubt. Please keep posing pics.
dude, that is truely awesome...that's gonna be a sweet sleeper, get it finished!
Thanks for all of the positive feedback guys!
Joe, the garage is actually a 3-car that isn't attached to the house and isn't heated. I keep it as warm as I can with a kerosene heater that I fill once daily usually. It works though.. I can't complain because it IS a place to work. If you have a garage you can pick up one of the heaters for pretty cheap and it does the job well!
On with the most recent pictures!
Here is the engine bay that is painted as much as it is going ot be. You can't see it but I painted the lower radiator core support. The battery tray isn't painted and since it will be covered by a battery... I'm not even going to bother.
And the most recent pictures of the engine sitting on its stand:
I've been all by my lonesome again for the past three hours roughly but I got a lot accomplished. Some of the 2.0 turbo gurus might notice an extra little pipe that doesn't normally sit on the back of the engine like that. It is the heater core feed pipe that normally bolts to the bottom of the intake manifold. I removed it and hooked it up this way to make it easier to take the intake manifold off and put it back on. I am also mounting the fuel pressure regulator to the block and adding easier fuel line disconnects for the same reason.... this way the intake manifold can go on last instead of first and I should be able to drop the engine and trans in together with the radiator removed. I am also adding a custom coolant over-flow and put the MSD multi-stepper for nitrous retard where the original went. Anyway... enjoy the pictures... I'm going to go @!#$ with the nitrous.
