Hey everyone, haven't been around in quite sometime now so I thought I would let everyone know that I haven't fallen off the earth.
I've decided not to sell the car and keep going with it. As of right now it needs a lot of work but I'll get her back into shape.
The engine spun a bearing, she needs a new clutch, intercooler pump, fenders and the body kit needs to be repaired and the car repainted. Over the next month or so I should be able to get everything done and I'll post up some pics of the progress.
The engine is coming out this Saturday to be torn down again (yes I spun another rod bearing just after taking it out of storage.
) This time the entire engine is coming apart and everything is being checked/cleaned and fully rebuilt. The bottom end is being converted over to an ARP stud setup, new Clevite bearings, adjustable timing set and all new gaskets and seals through out. The only new mod this summer will be a Power Tuner (from DHP) to tune the car with, a stronger water pump and larger rad for the intercooler, and a new 3" exhaust. If everything goes well with it I may play with some nitrous toward the end of the season.
Here are some pics of how the car sits today. This monday I should be starting the tear down of the engine and I'll make sure to take lots of pics for everyone.
P.S. Here is a pic of what Brad's working on at the shop... It's a 2003 S10 thats been converted to a convertable, bagged and on 20's, huge stereo, etc. It had a 2200 in it and now it's got a 4.8

if you kept the smaller motor in the truck it looks like you could of body dropped it to make it lay frame. doenst look like theres much room in that bay for the tires though
GL Raven, the 3800 SC takes up less room that the LD9 does ... Why didn't the J come with one stock?!?! Make sure to get LOTS of pics man.
I was just think about your car yesterday, and then thought, where the hell has he been? Glad to see ya posting again.

u body drop to lay body.. you bag and notch to lay frame
^^^werd, and with 20's he would have to take out the wheel wells and tub the firewall just to lay frame.

hey james what did u use for your guages? stock or aftermarket?
Opening Soon Kustom J's
Oh, and James, paint that engine bay black, its already half way there!! lol
Thanks for the support guys, means a lot. I have had some pretty @!#$ty luck with the car but I also drive it everyday and I am by no means easy on it, ask anyone who has driven with me.
The clutch went out after 20k which is kind of fast but I still have no complaints, it did it's job perfectly when it was not worn and never let me down, I will be replacing it with another Bulley.

I run both. The stock cluster is still there and I use the speedo from it, everything else is aftermarket.
Darren: Yeah the bay is going to go black for sure. I had a leak from the S/C snout last year and one of the pullies was not lined up so it chewed up the belt a little bit. Oily S/C oil and chewed rubber like to stick to things.
That and with the amount of time that I spend under the hood white is just too damn hard to keep clean.

actually with 20's up front you'd have to do a little more work than that to lay frame.. but pretty much
