I was really bored and decided to do a little experiment. I had to buy a new headlight and I took the old one and decided to try something. I don't know if it would fully work without upgrading to H.I.D. lights. Like I said i'm just trying to see if it would work and what people think. OH AND OF COURSE IF IT TURNS OUT THAT I WILLBE ABLE TO DO IT, I WILL USE DIFFERENT COLOR TURN SIGNAL BULBS. AMBER LOOKS LIKE S*** TO ME.
FIRST I PAINTED THE CHROME HOUSING ON THE HEADLIGHT AND TURN SIGNAL.
THEN I DECIDED THAT SINCE MY CAR IS RED, I WOULD GO AHEAD AND PAINT THE HEADLIGHT RED ASWELL.
NOW FOR THE BRIGHTNESS AT NIGHT WITH THE LIGHTS ON:
THIS IS THE HEADLIGHT WITH THE CHROME HOUSING.
THIS IS THE HEADLIGHT WITH THE BLACK PAINTED HOUSING.
OVERALL THERE WASNT TOO MUCH OF A DIFFERENCE IN THE BRIGHNESS. WHEN I GET ANOTHER CHANCE I WILL GO AHEAD AND INSTALL IT AT NIGHT AGAIN AND SEE HOW MUCH OF LIGHT DIFFERENCE THERE WILL BE AND I'LL POST A PIC.

looks cool. but how is the black going to reflect the light? seems like a safety issue.
That is definately one of my main concerns. That they are not bright enough for night time drive. So if thats the case, I will buy two new ones and paint them just like the pic and use them just for show.
you should just get the other set of lights now cause those are not gonna be safe enough for the street

What you could do, is paint the mirrored housing with a candy color...that way it would allow the mirrors to still reflect the light, and you could do it yourself.
i dunno if this would work well enough, but maybe a set of bright fogs on there (if you dont have already) may put out enough light at night??
I think I will go ahead and just paint the black housing and leave the chrome alone.
Im triyng to do everything before the bash if possible. I got something else to show to see what responses I get. I'll show you guys next time we meet up.
