wow thats gonna look damned good man. kudos on the work!
good work.
very nice touch.
very clean.
i demand pics once installed.
ehhhhh i used to do that @!#$ to my interior too!
im thinking you will love it for about a few months, then hate it?
i could be wrong but it just seems like the texture and look of the stock plastic is what im into, not cheaply painted panels
and believe me, i know the work you are putting in, ive done it twice before, and let me give you my respect for doing it, its a TEDIOUS process
all i can say is get a good amount of clear on it because that paint will scratch and chip like its its job
best of luck with it bro really liking the color scheme BTW
nice, i'm normally not a fan of painted/2tone interior, but that's a nice choice. i'd like to see it finished

Wow I am really surprised at the amount of work you are doing to it. It looks really good so far with great attention to detail. I look forward to seeing the finished result.

Alexis: Dustin, you're ghey, lol. I am better. I have tits, and tits rule all.
Is that dash vinyl or plastic?
Thanks for the comments so far guys. I'm hoping this holds up better than last time I did it (Krylon fusion vs. HVLP sprayed this time)
As for the color scheme, I know some of you have it engraved in your minds that tan is gay, but I feel like it will add a certain sophistication and "luxury" to the obviously not-so-either-of-those-things J interior.
I'm thinking of going a different way with the door panel speaker area though. For one, the pods will be an absolute bitch to cover with vinyl without it looking like ass, and it won't look as low-key as I would like. I may end up just doing a flat setup, with the crossover flush-mounted behind the door. More pics up later hopefully.
rkm1989: the dash is the stock vinyl covered, dyed with 3M Vinyl and Fabric dye.
looking good

Very nice. I love looking at custom interiors. Gives me that "itch" to redo mine.

4 Cams...32 Valves...5 Liters...This Could Get Fun!
I'm not going to lie, I'm not feeling it at all...
I know what you're going for here, with the luxury look and all but at the same time our cars aren't luxury...
And also too, doing it on a red car? I can see if it were black, but red? I just don't think it flows at all...
I can respect the work that you are putting into it though, and if you like it thats all that matters. You're the one that has to sit in it
that color tan is a far cry from the stock tan (which i abhor!). i think it looks damned good
i think youre doing a great job here, but holy cracked seats pilz-man! when did they start doing that? they had been black for a good 6 months before you got them. im kinda disappointed, although the rears look fine still.
(also, paint the window switches black
)
other than that, keep it up!
funaki: I know j's aren't exactly the cornerstone of luxury, but I think this is about as close as you can get without spending crazy amounts of money. and as for the 'why with a red car?' i got the idea from a ferrari testarossa. granted, it doesn't quite achieve the same effect, but I still think those three colors mesh well
ben:
Yeah some of my garments that had metal loops and chains and @!#$ on them weren't exactly generous to those seats. I bought a vinyl repair kit from autozone, but i'm a little iffy about trying it cuz i have no idea how it will look. they also need some touchup with dye something awful. The 'cracks' across the perforated section is actually just the dye rubbing off, the vinyl itself isn't in terrible condition.
im disappointed to hear that its the SEM thats wearing off. i was told that the stuff would soak into the material but i guess maybe not...? either way it still looks pretty good.
It actually looks good..Lose the floormats and get some thick black rubber ones..and the GPS..I don't know why people put it up there in that spot, its SO unsafe..Right in your line of vision, and looks stupid.
I had mine down to the left, for 2 reasons, It hides all the wiring, and is not right in the middle of your line of sight (Much safer)
Not the best pic, but you get the idea..
you know what looks out of place? The HVAC controls! Gotta do something with them!
definitly a different idea. i think it looks pretty cool. I really like the speaker portion on the bottom of the doors. when I had sunfire door panels i could never come up with an idea I liked for that bottom part. yours looks good. my only gripe would be some of the corners on the vinyl covering, but its not that big of a deal
