Back in a J

well I havent had a J in over 3 years now, but my Twin Turbo Stealth is becoming less reliable by the mile it seems. The final straw came last week when the trans started making some nasty noises, which was diagnosed as the input shaft/input shaft bearings. I decided to get a daily driver I can depend on and of course the first thing that came to mind was a Newer Eco Jbody. I hunted around for awhile, I was pretty picky, but this is what i came up with. I made the down payment yesterday and am waiting on the bank check to finalize the sale. Ill be picking her up on friday.

Details-
2004
LS Sport Coupe
78,xxx miles
new clutch
power everything(including sunrood )

Ill post my own pics later in the weekend after I get her home and get some nice wax on 'er.
Mods will stay to a very minimum till its paid off and the Stealth is drivable again. Just small things, carbon badge if i can find one, and some minor sound system (new nicer speakers, and subs maybe, and a nice headunit).

One of my sadly busted TT AWD Stealth.

Nah the Cav is better! My buddy has a 04 GLI 6 speed with a fmi, intake, 3" turbo back exhaust, hks bov and from a roll its a drivers race. All i have is a intake.. Trust me my buddy is saving up now for the tune so he can pull on me.. Don't get me wrong though it is a nice car its just not a fast car, not for the money.

Thanks all for a warm welcome all!

The heck with the jetta, my freshman roommate was a V-DUB nut and in the one year i roomed with him I got my fill of VW. And i dont particularly care for the look of them, on top of that i believe it was a 2-point-slow Jetta.

As for the clutch i believe the throw out bearing probably was the reason, my old cavy's TOB went out at about 80k and the plate still had alot of life on it.

^ oh believe me, if it were within my means, there were many other things in that lot i would have had way before that WRX. The WS6 and Evo X to name a few lol. Though that WRX is also in very pristine condition, and is gorgeous in its own right. I had my mom half convinced to buy it for herself, till she realized she cant afford a car loan right now lol.

He said he needed a reliable daily driver

(Surprised Darkstars didn't beat me to it )

Edit: Oh right, for being on topic Nice pickup, after having my short throw I can't believe how tall the stock ones are.

They STILL have that WS6? Wonder if it's the one that's been there for months! The WRX looks so sharp in white, it caught my eye. Mmm... and they've got a bunch of G35 too, that's one of my regular lots to shop on Sundays

Yeah that WS6 is still there, they were pulling out a Porche Carrera(sp?) out of their little detail shop there right as I was getting back test driving the cavy, the dealer joked "sure I cant get you into that Porche?", but he didnt Think he could swing the numbers quite down to my 7000.

It was probably the throwout bearing, mine did almost the same thing, i was getting off the highway pushed the clutch in and was stunned when it started bucking like i was still in gear.

Eternal (LuxuryTax) wrote:What was the asking price for it? Looks mint from what I can see

They had it stickered at $7800+tax&tags. I haggled them down to $7000, which is like $100ish below the blue book value according to my bank. I ended up walking out with a bill of 8014 and some change after tax, tags, and a 3mo-5000 mile warrenty tacked on. Which I would consider decent cause it is very mint, paint is perfect except a dime sized spot on the rear bumper lip right next to the exhaust cutout. Just a little blemish from who knows what. other wise everything else is almost showroom quality.
