the stripping has begun

well this week the wheels went and probably next week the kit will be gone

couple of the last pics of the car the way it was

and now with the new wheels, they need to be cleaned up but i wanted to let the paint dry 1st

and my brand new RSA's that gary found at the wreckers for 20 bucks
that was quite the awesome find

honestly i thought that i would regret selling my rims but i love the way the new ones look, the only thing i need to do with them is i want to paint the lip orange but i have to figure out how to do it so it actually looks good and i have to have the money to have the back tires rebalanced so i dont have the stupid weights on the outside

=)

i actually never really thought about that to tell you the truth

wait....i dont understand.
your downgrading?

Re: the stripping has begun
Tuesday, July 07, 2009 6:51 PM
ya i need to make it less borgs like

so the wheels are going more conservative and i am going back to stock bumpers, well with a bit of a twist

ahh...gotcha.
gonna tell us what the big twist is? lol
sleeper look then?

The wheels look good I guess but like said its kind of a downgrade and going back to stock bumpers. I mean wanting to distinguish it from Borgs' car is one thing but to take steps back. Its your car but I feel that its the wrong direction to go.

i am sick of having a kit, i love the typeJ but its just too low for daily driving it
i cant even have people in the back seat cause it sits too low

dont worry it will still look good when i am done doin what i want to

the kit and rims looked amazing...
stock height and you shouldnt have any probs with a kit?

i think you will make whatever you do work, i just think i will like the previous version more.

i will never ever put the car back to stock height, it would look like ass with a kit

I don't like this.

So what if it "was" Borgs car at one point.

Air ride would fix your height problem....

nah as much as i would love air ride i like a decent handling car

^^^ man that statement is just wrong. air bagged cars can handle just as well as anything else out there. lots of old muscle cars go bags and you see them auto crossing all the time and do rather well.

but i agree with kevin... who gives a crap if its too 'borgy'. ive been on this site a long time and dont even remember seeing it before you got it, sure theres some relics on here that remember him owning it but most of this site doesnt even know.

its YOUR car now. dont forget that.

i'll agree on the rims! your kit works VERY well w/ the car! To me, no matter what u do to the stock bumpers! It ain't gonna look as good as it does now!

just my .02 cents tho! No matter whose car IT was, Its still yours! Do as U please!

i know you can spend the money and get a good air ride kit that handles awesome, but now i have a wife and kid and spending that kind of money on the car is just not feasible anymore

and like i said i love the typeJ it is one of my favorite kits but i just feel like it is time for a change

I think I will like the stock-ish look with the stock bumpers better on your car. I feel you on time for a change. I look at my car and think change all the time. Can't wait to see you get the stock bumpers on and painted.

Trade for Satch that's a perfect change!!!

And as for changing this car I'll have to wait to see, so far I must say the z wheels are just to bland.

My vote goes for a TRD kit or IF....but a Z24 kit wouldn't be bad either I suppose... so long as you get the paint all lined up and such.

Sad to see, this car has always been one of the only cars that I realy liked the type-j kit on! I remember seeing it with black z wheels and liked the look so I approve of the wheels.

very sad to see Borgs car getting dismantled

Oh well

Re: the stripping has begun

Do what you want.

Afterall it's your car, and it's looked like it does for years with minor exterior changes.

Stock 2002 LS Sport kit I assume? Hot! Wheels look decent, tires a great score though RSA's utterly suck IMO you can't beat $20.

Prepare to repaint behind type-j sides where the vertical swoosh indentation is unless precautions were taken.

Re: the stripping has begun

It seemed to be ok when I had the passenger side off to re stick it

The car was always well taken care of so it should be fine. I hope

Re: the stripping has begun

Has nothing to do with be taken care of, the indentation simply rubs the paint behind it on the quarter panel and unless double-sided/protective film.

Eh, it is silver though, easy to miss versus my black .
