lame question but oh welll. can anyone show me where the brake booster line is?? i wanna seafoam my car but im confused about where to put it in.
DOPER.
Do you know what a brake booster is? and do you know where its located? if you answer yes to both, then the booster line is right there.
It's the big fat line coming off the booster. Good luck with this--I've read a lot of horror stories and not a lot of positive ones.
I like putting the sea foam right into the throttle body. Does the same thing but is easier, especially if you have an aftermarket intake!
where at in the throttle body??

I've heard nothing but good except when people don't use it properly.
I also have used it first hand many many times I love seafoam.

I wouldn't add it to the crankcase. Just search the forum for "seafoam" and you'll find your answer.
Put it into your intake... where your intake tube is you can run the car and add to the throttle body by opening it manually.

Using it in the crankcase you need to change your oil after the prescribed miles in the instructions.

Not a good plan the sensors don't like seafoam very much.
If you plan on changing your oil within the time frame noted on the can then pour 1/3 of the can in the crankcase, 1/3 in the tank, and the final 1/3 through the brake booster line.
Here is the best pic of the booster I could get since Im at work.
The large circle is your booster and the smaller circle in it is where the booster line is to the TB.

freaking awsome man. alot of help

Youre going to have to have crank the throttle manually to keep the car running when you use the booster. It about killed my car.
I wouldn't do this if I was you.....

I pull out the spark plugs and pour a little on top of the cylinders and let it soak for 20 or 30 minutes. It will eat up all the carbon on top of the cylinders.
i have done it on my eco many of times!!! 104K and still running strong. and if you go slow enough you dont have to rev the car at all. it bogs down but doesnt die on me.
I love sea foam. I try using it almost every oil change. When I first started adding it to my oil and then changed the oil a nasty looking sludge would come out. I always saw that as a good sign lol.
bad stories on my J, great success on the PT cruiser when I had it.
something tells me if you didn't know where the brake booster was you shouldn't be putting something into the engine i would master filling your car up with gas before you attempt something like this

Wait a sec...... your going to put seafoam in your brake booster? Why in the hell would you do that? This doesnt make any sense at all.
I've ran oil detergent every once in awhile.... and I have fuel stabilizer in my car for the winter....but seafoam in the brake booster? or pouring it into the TB when the engine is running?
I think some of you people just need to leave your car alone.
No one ever said to put it into the brake booster.
You use your brake booster vacuum line to introduce it to the engine while bypassing your TB's sensors.
Seafoam is an awesome product and has been around for a long time, I have used it in every car I've owned and countless other cars.

Oh..... OK.....
I've never been a big one on engine cleaners like that for the most part..... just think about if for a sec... if you have some oily grime on something... whats gunna clean if off better.... seafoam or gasoline?
Im am curious what introducing seafoam the the combustion process like that is supposed to do for the car. Clean the valves somehow?
But oh well.... now that I know your not actually putting it in the booster... I feel a little better LOL.
ok i did it yesterday half throught the brake booster and half in the tank. worked amazingly on my car!!! runs so much better. its idles smoother and everything. this is gonna be a regular thing
DOPER.
I use it in my car. And my first Eco went 221,500 miles and would still be going if the timing chain didn't let go. When I use it in mine I pull the fuel pressure regulator vac line and let it suck in the 1/3 can like stated on the can.
It seems like overall its a good idea...
has my interest...
How to Seafoam your Cavalier
1. Warm up the engine to operating temperature. (cat must be hot, or it can damage the system)
2. Disconnect the brake booster line.
3. Connect the application tool (see pics below) pour in 3/4 the can.
4. Start the engine, it will idle high because the booster is disconnected.
5. Open the application bottle 25% and let it flow slow
6. let the engine idle until all the seafoam is gone
7. Reconnect the booster.
8. Poor the rest in the gas tank, then wait 15 minutes.
9. Start the engine, let it idle for 1-2 minutes, then do several rev to 3,000 rpm
10. Watch the smoke show! Make sure your windows are up
11. Go for a nice drive, make sure to drive it like you stole it!
12. Go back home and listen to the neighbors complain
Ive done it to my car every 10,000 miles since it was brand new with 0 miles. Now has 51,000. We do it to almost every members car of DesertTuners, and I have done it to 100's of cars while working for GM. I love the stuff, works like a dream and its only $7.99. Works best in the brake booster line if you have an application tool or make one yourself. Not seen in the picture is a vac line T so it can suck in air into the mixure to keep it from hydrolocking.
