New Shoes Last Summer...Did I Make the Right Choice?
Wednesday, March 24, 2010 11:53 AM
Sooooo...

I sold my Riax's/Kumho's last summer in favor of a set of Enkei's/Dunlops. Even now, I can't decide if I made the right decision. I wasn't in love with the 10-spoke design, but I thought the black on polished lip was downright gorgeous. I've always liked the BBS-style rims, and the gunmetal is slowly winning me over, but I can't decide if I took a step forward or back. Input?

My 3rd set of rims/tires; Riax Seca's on Kumho Ecsta Supras; 225-40-18:

Current Setup; Enkei EKM3's on Dunlop Direzza Rubber; 235-40-18

I like the new. Gives the car a fresher look. Maybe if you polished the lips?

not a huge fan of the wheel on your old setup. but the shiny black wheel with the polished lip stood out nicely. the new wheels i like the design of, always have but the gunmetal with the black of your car for me isn't mixing well and it just tends to make those wheels blend in and not really stand out. they just dont Pop as much as the old ones do.

Old set lookd better because of the colors. The new set up would look alot better in a diffrent color. maybe get someone to photoshop a couple diffrent ways and see what looks best.

Thanks for the comments, guys. I have a feeling the current wheels would look better in gloss black/polished. I was going for a "murdered out" feel and maybe it just isn't panning out. I have a feeling the next set of wheels will be ither fully polished or black with a polished lip again.

They both look good you can't really go wrong either way. While the older set did stand out a bit more the new set give the car a very mean look. Stealthy one would say.

I liked the old ones better, but I think the new ones would look pisser either chromed or fully polished.

The current ones if they were gloss black.

I think bigfoot is blurry,
that's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is blurry. And that's extra
scary to me. There's a large, out-of-focus monster, roaming the countryside.

I prefer the older wheels over the newer ones. I prefer less spokes (personal taste) but I like the smoother spokes on the older ones as well as being in black with the polished lip. I feel like your car pulls of a wheel with a lip well, I could see a deeper lip wheel looking nice on there.

When I'm lookng for shoes I always go for Merells, they are the best, most cofortable shoes I've ever had. I bought a low cut pair of th Moab's for hiking, they were so comfortable o startd wearing them all the time, they were so much more comfortable then my work shoes so I strted wearing them for work as well. A year later after wearing them all day every day they are still waterproof, still holdng up great, still very comfortable. I think I'm gonna leave them at work as strictly work shoes and get another pair for outside of work. The only exception is running, I love Brooks running shoes.

You need something that "pops" more. The new wheels are sexy but don't fit the car since it's got a pretty aggressive look to it.
