Hi
I was wondering if you could tell me what I should use to make sure my shifter knob doesnt come off while shifting, also how much time did it take to take of your orig shifter knob? ive fought with mine for atleast two hours, no go(2003 sunfire se). Even got my bro to give it a twist/pull and he can bench 300 pounds lol. Any specific tactics to getting it off without destroying it would be much appreciated
whers the clip? because i read a couple furoms that there isnt a clip? and where would it be hiding?
in front of the shifter facing the radio, its a U shaped clip that sits flush in the shifter, take a flat head screw driver and pop it out
damn, i had no clue man do i feel stupid, i read in other forums it didnt but ill def take a look at lunch today
If you actually had your car listed in your registry, I could give a definitive answer here.
If it's a manual, there's no clip. Click my sig to see how they come off. If it's an auto, then it's got the clip on the front.
its definitly manual and sorry bout pics, my cars dirty, and my gf has my camera...so its gonna be acouple days until i wash my car and take pics. sunfire 2003 se is pretty much what it is minus the (newbie)mods on it.
Don't need pics. Just a listing would suffice.
how much you bench doesn't mean u have alot of hand strength haha. Mine just twisted off
well maybe i gota hire you then to take it off. lol ive had me, my gf,my bro, my gf dad, my best friends dad,my best friend pull/twist to no success lol
im heading down to my gm dealership to ask them about that upgrade to my ecu after work, ill see if i can just get a mechanic to pop it off for me while im there. *crosses fingures*
did u try to do it while it's still attached to the car or did u take it out for a short shifter? Mine was still attached. Use both hands, twist and pull.
well mines still attached, i was hoping just to get the knob off, then swap out the knobs, as i will just buy a short shifter next season, the speedway is closed where i live now not.
