Excuse my ignorance. What year did the ecotec engine commence? Thank you.
It was first available in the Cavalier and Sunfire mid-year 2002. The engine itself debuted in the Saturn L-series, sometime around 2000.

i didn't know that saturn had the ecotec since 2000. i thought the engine went in all the cars at the same tmie. guess you learn something new every day.

Just so you know, the I4 and V6 ECOTECs don't share really any characteristics and I believe the V6 is only available in Europe, Australia & New Zeiland.
