Windshield washer sprayers

I'm sure more of you have a problem with this other than me. I don't park in a garage so I get snow and ice on my care. I even use de-icer on my windshield wiper sprayers and they still won't shoot any washer fluid out even though the motor runs when I hit the switch. I'm assuming that the lines that hook up to the sprayer are frozen as well because they are exposed. I have tried using windhshield washer de-icer with no luck. Any ideas? I'm about to drill holes into my hood and put hood mounted ones on the cav just so the lines will get the heat of the engine bay. What do you all think? Thanks!

sure its the lines frozen, and not a bad pump or something, mine still work fine even in freezing weather.

but ive been thinking of putting the nozzles on the hood too...but only so i can adjust the nozzles and squirt people as they walk by

oh i did that on my grand am too, its real easy to mount nozzles on the hood

check the lines inside the hood to make sure that its not being pinched, thats a common problem people i know have had with the lines not working.

Can you mix alcohol in it or something to keep it from freezing? I am not actually suggesting someone do this, I am just asking.

mine freezes as well. It sucks when your windshield is covered in salt from the road and you have to you snow at mcdonalds to clear your window.

I'm working on something simialer to what they are advertising on some of the new GMs. Its the heated washer fluid. Still thinking of how I would be able to do it.

I know what he's talking about, mine was doing the same thing. After a few miles when the engine heat hits the liens and warms it up, its fine, but initially it is frozen.

easies way to fiz it... pull the line off the pump and sit there squirting ittill its all out... then get the concentrated washer fluid stuff, the stuff you need to mix 50/50... use HOT water to mix it with and fill it back up, try spraying it for a couple seconds then wait, try again wait, try again wait, it will melt its way though preaty damn quick
