Hello all, I havn't been to this site in quite some time, and am very behind on my GM info. If remember right, the Cobalt is a j-body right? Also, does anyone know if the front facia/hood/headlights...ect..from a cobalt will fit on my 98 sunfire? Don't know if i would actually do it, just a thought that crossed my mind one day. The reason i ask is cause i know the newer sunfire front ends can fit on older sunfires....probably a stupid question but thought it would be something different to do....Thanks
Larry

The cobalt is not a j-body it is the replacement for the j's built on the Delta platform also known as the A body.
so swapping from a fire to cobalt front end would not be a simple task and alot of custom work would be required

So would that be a Cobfire or a Sunbalt? Either way...that would be a screwed up combo...doncha think?
I'm with stupid!>>>>>>Of coarse, sometimes I feel like turining those arrows the other way and saying I'm stupid!

No they are now considered A bodies since GM is no longer using the Greek designations for their cars. Its a very recent change but you can find it on CobaltSS.Net.

The Cobalt is sold in both the United States and Canada under the same name. A rebadged Cobalt is sold as the Pontiac Pursuit in Canada, and as the Pontiac G4 in Mexico. Reports indicate that the vehicle will also be sold in the United States, possibly as the Pontiac G5, starting in 2007. All of these vehicles are manufactured at GM's Lordstown Assembly plant in Lordstown, Ohio.
heheh sorry had to

Thanks for the info guys.....btw, i think i like the "sunbalt" myself....although in my case it would be a "grand sunbalt " since a lot of my sunfire is now half grand am
. It would definately be interesting to see though.
