Hey!
I've got a 92 z24 droptop, and I need a new top! The present one has holes and the rear window is cloudy and leaks.
It's black, the car is white with the red badging and emblems. The interior is gray, and it has American racing rims on it.
The choices I've found are:
White (I hesitate because it'll get filthy, but I don't know how easy it'll clean up...)
Tan (Perhaps with a tan interior? It'd probably look a bit silly with the gray interior..)
Black (eh, it's ok... I'd rather not)
Dark Blue (Perhaps good with the gray?)
Anyone have a white car with these different colour tops that could post the pictures? I'd really appreciate knowing what it's going to look like.
Thanks!
The range of colors available is going to be a function of the type and quality of top you purchase. If you stick with vinyl (upsides: less expensive than cloth . Downsides: doesn't look as nice as cloth and will unlike cloth will shrink over time) you will have more choices, including not just the ones you listed but also greys and even maroon shades.
If you upgrade to cloth (which I did), the tradeoff is generally fewer colors available for our Js, especially if you go with the better top makes (like Robbins). When I purchased my replacement top from the latter they offered our top in seven different shades in the Stayfast cloth version, which consisted of black, biege, tan, light and darker grey, a dark blue and burgundy (if you want to pay a big premium you can also get the top in a range of fluorescent "hot rod" colors, which are really only for show and not regular daily driver use). Here are the Robbins cloth and vinyl color charts for tops available for Js:
