95-02 spoiler mount / hole template
Friday, August 28, 2009 5:48 PM
Hi guys,
Anyone have a template for the 95-02 spoiler mounting holes? I've got a '02 spoiler i want to install on my '03 as i like the older one better. Any measurements would be a lot of help, i had a template but lost the damn thing. lol
Thanks
Don

the 03 uses the same holes, your gonna be left with some extra holes showing tho.

If your using an '03 spoiler on an '02 earier you'll have a couple extra holes showing, currently i have no rear spoiler though. lol What i'm not sure about is how far from the front edge of the trunk the thing sits. I'd like to have the measurment from the front edge of the trunklid to the front edge of the spoiler if possible, then i can make a template, drill the holes..etc.

you are going to run into problems with the spoiler sitting flush with the 03-05 tails lights. the center light bar comes up to far, and gets in the way of the lip part of the 00-02 spoiler

I figured that it would hit somewhere, but the red lightbar on mine is cracked so what i was going to do is mount the spoiler and cut a slot in the rear area of the lightbar while i was there repairing the thing. After i get it to fit the way i want it to, i'll scuff and paint the red area white to match the car. i'll mask off the backup lights and silver accent before painting it.
Thanks

why dont just save yourself the headache and get a trunk from a 1995-2002 cavalier? then you can use the older style headlites.

I think he meant taillights instead of headlights. lol The trunklid and spoiler are the right color already, and doing a small mod on the red tailcover / bar is pretty easy as well. Might take an evening or 2 after work to complete it, i'll mess with that in between the Camro's i'm working on when they piss me off. lol I'm finishing up a 69 Rally Sport and about half-way into a '74 Z28 i got a couple of months ago.
Thanks
Don
