Just curious about everyone's take on how to stay cool in the summer. Personally I'm a windows down, crusin' sorta guy... that and putting the AC on in my Cav is like downshifting
.
Let's hear it.
Nope.
Come spend a summer day here in Arizona. That will change your mind.

the former." - Albert Einstein
My A/C compressor started leaking again last year. I dont run it very often anyways. Windows down up to 55 MPH, over that windows up and blower on high. No A/C but still cool enough and helps with teh MPG.
Haha yeah... it was hot... say like 30 celcius today and it was no fun. But for me, i'm so true to having the windows down sometimes, i'll put the heat on if it's cold
Nope.
windows down because the ac was removed from my car...bleh
I have a convertible... need I explain?
I never hooked up the A/C when I did the 3800 swap... lines would have to be custom, so I didn't bother. I never use the A/C anyway.

x2
although even before i got the drop top i preferred windows down. in the 7+ years of owning Js all of them have had a/c and ive probably used it once or twice per year and only because of other people in the car.
Windows down FTW! Even in the hot nasty summer I'll use windows. A/C cramps my style lol.
Windows down, this is my first car with working A/C so I guess by now its a force of habit.

I'm trying to get the best gas mileage so I just pretend like i don't have AC... maybe use it once a year to see if the compressors is still working. All about the arm half out the window cruising.
Nope.
The a/c doesnt work in my cavy, the condenser has a hole from it where the hood latch bracket came down and crushed it. If its really unbearably hot or something Ill just drive my cougar, the a/c is like a freezer in it
Those of you who use the MPG reasoning...
I personally do both, i like windows down and always at least have mine open...But, i like to be cold so the ac is usually on full blast as well....
Some days, it is just to damn hot and i gotta have the AC cranked and the windows rolled up...
Florida + Fluffy=Love for AC
I removed my AC a while ago, the only person it bothers is my g/f when she's in the car.

My Z24 didn't have A/C. That and the 3-speed auto were the two main reasons I got rid of it. I'll never have another car without A/C. I'm just not made for 25+ degree temperatures!
WIndows down most days. AC if I'm in traffic that's not moving or if it's humid. I've got tons of hair, it doubles in size if it's humid
Windows down..unless it is humid...
You people must not live where it is actually hot then. It is going to be 100 here today for a high, I use A/C all the time basically

I wish my a/c worked. I've never had a J with a working a/c. Even with the windows down it's hell on a 100+ day.
If I need A/C in the truck (GTP doesn't work anymore) I will run A/C plus recirculation, until the cab cools off, then turn off the A/C and let the recirculation keep things cool. As long as I am moving I can't tell the difference when I switch off the A/C.
For the most part, I like the windows down, unless I am on the highway.
**there is only one true love in my life... and my girlfriend has learned to live with it**
I typically only use the AC if I have my grandma or my dogs in the car, otherwise I have all four windows down all the way. Yesterday I did use the AC though because it was extremely hot and humid and we had 30+ mph winds so having the windows down wasn't really an option
.
hmm.. it was 103 outside with 50% humidity. A/C plz.
mythbusters did something on this.
they found out that there is a magic number with Windows down vs A/C on as far as mpg goes.
its 50 mph. anything below 50 mph turn the windows down. anything above 50 turn up the windows and crank the ac. something to do with the drag thats created going over 50 mph
Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
A/C makes my car sound like it has 53 extra torquepowerz.
Yea, you guys must not live where it's hot and humid.
I used to live in south florida, and now I live in west georgia. It's been an avg of 90 lately. Lowering the windows doesn't help - hot wind doesn't necessarily cool you down, especially if you're at a stop sign or light, and it's humid as hell anyway. I run AC 24/7, except when first starting out in the morning (s/c, a/c, cold engine, and auto tranny doesn't mix well together). If you're on the highway with cruise control, the compressor drag is almost nonexistant, I used to do many long trips and tested my mpg with both, and it made no difference.
Luckily my commute is 20 miles @ 75 mph on the highway with no traffic, cruise control ftmw.
