coolant light help

my coolant light comes on very sporatically. i notice it most times when i hit the gas and get up to speed. but then after about 5-10 minutes of driving it goes off. i have topped up the coolant, and i did replace the hoses with silicone (thinking thats my problem). the temp needle doesn't go past half way so engine temp is not rising

please help

Probably a defective level sensor inside the coolant tank. If you have a wrecker near you, go grab a newer tank and swap it out. Make sure it's the same... there are a couple different ones (different # of fittings on the top).

Swap it out when the engine is cold...

Its actualy a common thing with GM cars. Ive fixed these alot. As said before, there are different tanks to look for.

My solution was just unplugging the sensor, problem solved.

that's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is blurry. And that's extra
scary to me. There's a large, out-of-focus monster, roaming the countryside.
