Yup, throwing a Lean code... p0171. I have an adjustable FPR now, so adjusting it is easy... but I don't know what to set it to!!
So.. what's the fuel pressure supposed to be at idle??
Thanks

43 psi.

Hmm... that's what it was set at. Guess I better go higher
Other than the supercharger, the only thing I've done lately was swap out the stock FPR and rail for an adjustable one and mount a gauge on the rail. Maybe it's not accurate

The first thing i would do is swap out the spark plugs for a set of rapid fire #5's.If that dont fix the problem, check for vacuum leaks.

I have NGK iridiums in there right now. Maybe not for long... I took the car for a spin again after setting the fuel pressure higher, and it's got a pending P0171 code.. the light didn't come on, but the fan did and it's in open loop mode... less power.
I'm going to change the spark plugs tomorrow morning, and we'll see what it does. I have the spark plugs that came in the kit... didn't think the NGK's would be a problem, but we'll see.

Maybe you were running very rich and fouled up the O2 sensor?

the former." - Albert Einstein
my 00 2.4 has a idle fuel pressure of 50 psi , with the stock fpr
and my 97 was in the 42-45 range
id bump the pressure up to around 48 and clear the codes and see how that does
Well, I went with the higher pressure... and now swapped the spark plugs from the NGK iridiums to the ones in the GM S/C kit... the NGK's came out white.. lean I'd say
It's still getting the pending code.. so the fan kicks on and it goes to open loop mode. Damn it!! Usually happens after I've been givin' 'er hard on boost. Gotta get the EGT in there and see what it's really doing.

id use a wide band o2 over a egt
do you have a way to see what your o2 is doing while driving ?
and same with the fuel pressure ??
id say to look at the fuel pump pressure while under load , see if maybe the pump is weak or the filter is getting clogged
or maybe your o2 is getting weak , and needs to be replaced ?
ive got to drill and have a o2 bung welde in mine for my wideband

What do u have those plugs gapped at with the s/c?

Ok, I'll have to re-gap them and try it. Now I'm having trouble starting the car (sometimes) and it's putting up the pending code every time I take off from a stop.
I'm thinking I may put the stock FPR back in and see what happens.

Ok, I went for the "reinstall stock FPR" method first... but now the stock POS is leaking around the middle of the FPR... piece of junk... sigh... now I have to find another FPR to try out...
This SUCKS!
<a href="http://www.lenkorules.com/"><img src="http://s93165229.onlinehome.us/images/misc/redsig.jpg"></a>
hm, i had that code come on for quite some time, after a while it just dissapeared
you sure its not a O-ring john ??
No, it's leaking around the middle of the case.
Anyway.. I have it figured out... well, sorta. The adjustable FPR doesn't adjust for boost (off the GM s/c port to the stock FPR). It stays at 48psi when you rev it up, instead of going to 58 or so as the stock FPR does (but, it was leaking).
I THINK... if I move the FPR hose to the stock port on the TB.. it should fix my problem. We'll see tomorrow.
<a href="http://www.lenkorules.com/"><img src="http://s93165229.onlinehome.us/images/misc/redsig.jpg"></a>
well the fpr reads low pressure with vacuum , and high pressure with no vacuum
or in your case low vacuum = boost
but the s/c i got had the fpr on the tb , but it had alot off odd stuff done to it , like the stock 1 bar map sensor , odd looking fuel injectors(see post in boost)
Ok, still having issues. Stupid car!!!
I installed a fuel pressure gauge with the s/c install. It's tapped into the stock fuel rail. The adjustable FPR wasn't raising the pressure with boost so I took it off and installed a new stock FPR. No more leaks
Now.. when I give it a little gas.. even out of gear.. it puts up a pending p0171 code and kicks on the fan. Very annoying. I went to back into my parking spot, after clearing the pending code, and as soon as I started moving it set the pending code again.
PISSING ME OFF!!
I've checked for vacuum leaks.. none that I can find. I'm thinking it may be the IAC or MAP sensor.. which would suck, since the MAP is brand new with the S/C kit.. and I'm sure GM Canada isn't going to warranty it.

That is the to lean code but also the code for a malfunctioning O2 sensor. The one before the Catalytic Converter. Try replacing that O2 sensor.
I don't need no stinking SIG. Wait this is one.
DOH!
