Has anyone who didn't win a price, ever liked the judging at any show... ever?

I had a pretty good time and didn't think there was anything particularly wrong with the judging. Like everything where judging is involved, there will always be people who disagree with the decisions. Oh well, they'll need to get over it and try again next year. I'm finding this season that I'm enjoying the social side more and, by the way, there's a bunch of nice cars to look at.

Exactly.... WW. Whoever you "heard" this from must of been a looser.......

These shows are for fun and knowledge about what the judges look for @ future shows.... and the mods specific for your car... not the whole bling bling import scene type show..

sucks to be you huh.... ?? I talked to the guy that owns the blue camaro, and he didin't have a problem with the show what's so ever when i talked to him face to face... so i dunno ....

are you like 18-19 or something?

ACTUALLY, I heard that unless you were friends with everyone, you didn't win. Someone who was there said a pretty much stock car won wild... That's all I was saying.
I was going to go but I was in Hull, the guy with the Blue Camaro is my brother and by the way dickball, I am a little over 18, I am only going by what I heard from 5 or 6 people that went and they all said the judging was unfair. I don't give a rat's ass who won or not...I don't think it's about winning, sure it's nice but I know some people do.

I was just staing the facts as they were told to me so eat @!#$!

Clean looking cars = grab my tastes, I really want to see a member redo a whole car inetrior in leather to match stock yet give the car a more classy feel. I really dislike full out fibre glassed interiors....

"Pretty much stock car" wouldn't appear to describe Borgs' Cavy. In my opinion (and afterall judging is completely based on someone's opinion) it is one of the nicest cars (not just j-bodies) that I know. It is a car which has been modified as a complete package which works together quite nicely. I have seen other shows, however, where "wild" was defined as "radical" by the judges so the winning entry was the nicest car which looked the least like stock and Borgs' car was completely overlooked. Both results are perfectly valid and were the best cars as viewed by the particular judges of each show.

Thanks for the kind words Ron.

In the Stock 3rd Generation class there was a total of 6 points between the top 6 cars.

That's how close judging was.

I think the overall feel was people liked having their car judged more than in the past
where we did peoples choice. Now that was a popularity contest.

All in all I had a great time and it was nice seeing some faces that I only get to see a few times a year. That in itself made the show a blast.

Well that and Gringo getting his 50 poster.

Judging isnt fair... We keep it unfair. We want to make sure as many people as possible b!tch about it. what fun would it be if everyone had a good time and was happy with all of the results ...

Smarten up Girl... The judges were some of the most knowlegeable people in the J-Community... We know what to look for.

The classing was based on your competition... not based on what you would see at another show. We took the most modified cars and made them Wild, even though they would be semi mod, or mild at other shows.

Leave it up to the judges to make the best decision possible... and quit ur bitching..

Let me explain why it might have seemed that judging was screwed up.

1. This was a J-Body only competition with 43 competitors.
2. There were 1st place and runner up trophy for each 6 categories:
- 1st & 2nd Gen Stock
- 1st & 2nd Gen Mild
- 1st & 2nd Gen Wild
- 3rd Gen Stock
- 3rd Gen Mild
- 3rd Gen Wild

Cars were classed accordingly, compared to who was competiting. We tried spreading the cars out evenly and using our own definition of what the classes should encumpass.

The "stock car" winning Wild category that you're refering too is probably Julu's car. Julu was classed wild (along with 3 other 2nd gens...that's it..4 cars in that class) because he has a custom paintjob, Racing seats, molded 1st gen sideskirts, side fender markers, clear corners, exhaust, pully, yellow top, some audio, after market wheels (as opposed to other 2nd gens with 3rd gen wheels), suspension and I can go on with a few other things.

Yes Julu's car might "seem" stock, but it's far from it. Just cause it doesn't have a huge pigeon slicer wing and a cheap fiberglass asphalt scrapper kit doesn't mean he cannot be classed wild in this particular competition.

It took the judges about 20 minutes to concur on which cars belonged in what class for 2nd gen (there were a total of about 10 of them). Only 1 car was considered completely stock (cause it was). The mild categories featured second gens that had mild modifications such as intake, OEM type wheels, minimum audio if any, a drop, a bit of interior...you know the drill.

Anywho...we have not had a single complaint about the show's judging (by those who attended)..and even if we had one or two complaints...it's still a damn good ratio. Overall I feel the show was a good success and we plan to make it bigger next year (which means that classes might not seem so screwed up).

Hey Oliver. There were quite a few stock third gens and I think at least one other was as stock as yours.

For the first / second gens the stock one was my wife's convertible where I think the only aftermarket part is the new Canadian Tire alternator.

Did you all read the part that said I wasn't there?!?!? I was stating the facts as they were told to me by the people who were there that thought they were unfairly judged...They said a stock older cavalier won wild...I don't know what it was cause I wasn't there....

I could really give a @!#$ less who did and didn't win. Let me put on my caring face....Everyone is entitled to voice their opinions & most people never do because sometimes they don't know the person or whatever so that is we they never said anything at the show. And all I did was say how some of the people that were there felt... So you all can kiss my ass with telling me to quit bitching about a car show that I DIDN'T EVEN ATTEND!! I wasn't there, I don't care, all I did was post up their opinions & thoughts about the show cause some of them don't have the access to.... If you read my post above it said "Was a nice day there so hope everyone had a good time"

So everyone needs to chill cause you are all doing the bitching cause I don't give a poop.

Bitch at the people who were there not me.....
