Up on Bank street there was this Cop there to enforce a no left turn at an intersection which has no #@$#ing value whats so @#$ing ever....I mean come on. that is just stupid....
I understand if they get you for speed and stuff but ...anyway i just found that to be dumb...

Seriously though, I was kind of curious, and I checked out Google Maps to try and see were they would restrict left turns. Which intersection was it? They must be trying to allow maximum through-traffic or something.

Left turns are restricted if the area causes major traffic problems. In a few areas around dc and rockville in MD they have no left turns during certain times of day in order to keep traffic moving.
However the blame rests on your shoulders. Sign says no left turn, you make left turn. Setting yourself up.

People who think that are just plain ignorant. You think that we can just go out and arrest people like that? We are not sidekick that can talk to spirits and know who did what. You can't do anything before it happen. What do you want to do, bring somebody in just because he look like a suspect?

Suspect commit and infraction/crime
A complaint is issued
Suspect is arrested
It's the only it can work. You can't fit crime before it happen. You can reduce it but not stop it.
Also, if you lost respect for the service because YOU broke the law and got a ticket, YOU are the @hole.

It doesnt matter if there is no major traffic in that area.....there is CLEARLY a NO LEFT TURN sign at the intersection and you made a left anyway.

rules are there for a reason. there a road by my old house is pa that you cant make a left hand turn off of and in jersey most of the major roads are no left hand turns. you made an illegal turn and got caught. oh well pay the fine and move on

Its simple, they need to pull in the money to pay the bills. There is absolutely not moral issue that says you were "wrong" in what you did, its financial.
Officers on "traffic enforcement" are really on "bend over and lube up...PAY ME BIATCH" duty. Drunk drivers and speeders aside...these kind of things are worthless otherwise.

no no...i was stopped at the light and the light said no left traffic for 2 hours.. the sign was way up and i did not notice it. Once i turned the cop was waiting on the other side of the road and pulled us over. Some Honda got pulled over as well.

the roads would probably be alot better too if we gave warnings to drunk drivers and people who run red lights.
if i get stopped i expect to get a ticket, i don't do something illegal in front of a cop and think to myself "if he decides to pull me over in my modified car he will just give me a warning because im me"

Incidentally... I HATE being stuck behind people who hold up traffic trying to turn right or left when the intersection is clearly marked to deny it. I drive downtown every day and there's all sorts of intersections that you can't turn at after 4:00.
People turn anyway and hold up traffic while they're waiting for the opening. I'm the guy laying into his horn until they're out of my way.
I've even had people give me the finger. They're illegally turning and holding me up in the process and then they give me the finger for hitting my horn about it. Selfish pricks.
Not directing this at you. I'm sure you were on a wide open street and not holding anyone up. Then sure, the cop was just out to collect money but hey... you can't really complain about it. Just go fight it and hope for the best. Do your part to hold up the court system. If everyone does it, we'll never have to pay traffic fines again.
