Fighting a Ticket in Quebec????

So i got a speeding ticket 2 weeks ago on my way to Montreal. I was pulled over just inside of Quebec. He said he clocked me at 130km in a 100 zone. He would not show me the radar gun, as he said it resets in 2 min. I asked again to see it explaining that in Ontario the officer is required to, he told me I need a lawyer and handed me a ticket.
The fines there are less luckily, only $156 and 2 points.
I currently have a clean record though and would like to keep it that way.
Does anyone have any idea how to go about fighting this ticket? I have like a week left to either pay it or dispute.
Every company I called (i.e. Street Legal, Pointts, X-copper etc.) said they cannot fight the ticket for me since its in quebec and the laws are differnt. Also because it is too far.
So anyone have any ideas???
thanks!!

Just don't go back to Quebec ? lol just kidding man. I dunno, I do know the laws are different and they're a lot harsher there. I know someone that accidentally drove down a one way street the wrong way at like 2am, there were no signs indicating that it was in fact a one way street, went back during the day to prove it, still no luck fighting it. Try gettin a lawyer, or find someone that knows the laws up there and fight it. I wish you luck.

Hire a traffic lawyer to that local county (french version of points there), and have them do it for you. ONLY problem being that you have to book/ request a trial the court date yourself....

I'll bet he saw the Ontario plates and figured he could do whatever he wants. I'm sure he knew what a hassle it would be for you to try to dispute it.

Do they even have paralegals in Quebec to fight it the way we do here?

i had the exact thing happen to me 4 years ago in quebec.

i got the quebec xcoppers to fight it for me, the dropped it 1km, took my $400, and i still had to pay the ticket along with getting the points...so dont go with them!

definatly saw the ontario plates and knew he could do as he pleased...
i guess i'll just pay it, much better then paying xcoppers and still paying the ticket...

now does anyone know if a quebec ticket even effects my driving record?

I was always told by professors in my law programs not to touch any xcopper type place, big money grab. Seems pointless to me ur paying one way or another its just who you're paying ... My opinion anyway.

Try Ticket Defenders, I dealt with them and they were a huge help, but I have no idea if they have a similar office in Quebec.

Do it yourself..x-coppers is for fools.

Contact the local courts there (should be info on the ticket) and request a "First Appearance" You will have to be there in to court house but it's more of an informal situation. In this you will basically plead your case to the prosecutor and he will either give you a bargain or not. If not go to court (again) and hope the cop does not show (happens more than you think)

This worked in Ontario and I doubt this is not the case in QC. I got a 72 in a 50, $115 charge and 3 points pleaded to 15 over, $45 fine and Zero points. It all happened in the matter of an hour and a bit....well worth it and it cost me ZERO.
This is what the x-coppers do for you..basically nothing you can't do for yourself.
Good luck

as much as I want to go fight the ticket myself, id end up spending more in gas just getting there and back then the ticket is worth. My car is a little bit of a gas guzzler, and ended up being about $80 each way to Montreal. I figure the ticket is only $156, Id rather pay that then go try to fight it and possibly end up having to pay the ticket plus the gas money. This SUCKS!
