Would anyone know what the tensile strength of the bolts that hold in the strut assemblies are? Or perhaps where one could find that information? They are not listed in any of the Chilton's manuals...

if you're talking about the ones in the front bottom or back bottom, VERY tight

I was looking for tensile strength of the bolt not how much to torque them. Thanks though. I am seeing if it is feasable to replace them with some type of stainless steel or possible something galvinized so the bastards don't rust so fast.

Post the size and thread of the bolt and I will get the information for you.
Is it metric (M10 x 30) or emperical (3/8 UNC x 1"). These are only examples.

What bolts are your referring to? The three that bolt through on the top (in the engine bay and trunk) or some other ones?

If you're looking to replace them, you should probably just get them from GM just to be sure. They'll be more expensive than from some hardware place, but you'll ensure you get the right ones.

You sure as hell don't want to end up with fasteners that aren't as strong as they need to be and in some cases, it can be bad if they're too strong as well as sometimes bolts are designed to shear off under certain conditions for safety reasons or otherwise.

I was looking for the bolts that hold the on the top of the strut assembly that mount in to the wheel well and then the lower ones that mount to the axel. They are 13, 15, 18 and 21mm Sized. Can't tell what thred pattern they are because the heads are rusted and thrashed.

This will give you a rough estimate based on bolt diameter.
These are holding force per bolt (torquing required in inch-lbs):

1/4" = 1000 lbs (87)
5/16 = 1500 lbs (165)
3/8 = 2000 lbs (290)
7/16 = 2500 lbs (430)
1/2 = 3000 lbs (620)
9/16 = 3500 lbs (620)

Data from "Design of Machine Elements - Fourth Edition"

I hope this helps,
