when switching from dot 3 to dot 4 like motul do i need to drain my dot 3 first or can i bleed the brakes by adding dot 4 until all the dot 3 fluid is gone?
The two are compatable so you can bleed them until the clean DOT4 runs through. You don't have to drain the DOT3 first.
is 2 pints enough to flush the old brake fluid out? i will be putting my baer brake kit on and switching to motul dot 4 at the same time.
2 pints will be close, but should be enough.
If I were swapping brakes out, I would drain the whole system of the dot3 myself. Then fill it all again with the dot4 when I'm done. It's *alot* more work, but you'll get more of the crap out of the lines. Just my 2 cents.
