I am looking into lowering my car and getting a body kit. I was wondering, how would i use the jack to raise it. Lets say like a 2 inch drop and maybe buddy club 2 skirts. Could i use the stock jack or have to use another kind.
make some ramps out of 2x4's or 2x6's
like this, kinda stack 2 or 3 at different lengths
____----------
so that they ramp you up....
then you can get any jack under it
In my auto body class at school we had a slammed integra in there and we had to use some 2x4s having the car drive up on them high enough for us to get the jack under there and lift up the car.. it was a pain but shouldnt be sumthing u would have to deal with to much.. just telling u what we had to do in our school.. the scissor jack(spare tire jack) might work? just depends on ur side skirts on how low they are and if itll allow them to go up without bending or cracking ur skirts.. ur just gonna have to get it all on and try..u gotta remember tho if ur jacking it up the opposite side's access will be smaller..that what it was before u jacked up the car...
if u have a emergency jack u should be able to fit that under the pinch welds.
and use a air tool to jack it up.

It's one thing that's a pain in the ass to deal with. I have to either take it to a performance shop where they have a special jack or do what they said above with driving your car on an object to get it high enough for a lift. If I want an oil change, I have to go to Jiffy Lube because they have an underground bay area.

easy for me. i slam one side down, and raise up the other side. thats what i do for my oil changes.

yea but atleast your car is drivible
You could get a low profile jack. I have this one:
Craftsman Jack
and we use it on a cavalier thats lowered 2" and has the import fighter side skirts.
I have that jack also, works really well for my cavalier sitting on sportlines with stock skirts
If you can't get under it with the scissor jack, then you've got some real issues.
The problem with the scissor jack is that it's not meant to support the load when it's that low. You'll be able to lift the car, but you'll wear out the jack if you use it often. I went through one before getting my low-pro floor jack. Because of the geometry of the jack, way more lateral pressure is put on the threads the lower it is, so starting off lower puts a much bigger strain on it. It's great for leaving in the car for emergencies, but I don't recommend using it regularly.
I use a low profile floor jack and put a wooden block on it that fits flush just behind the pinch rail. Works like a charm. If the car is dropped down though, sometimes I'll need to start lifting it with the scissor jack to get the floor jack under it. This only happens at the track though since I don't ride that low on the streets.
Stock jack will work fine without sideskirts, with them I dont know. Just dont get a normal jack and lower your car or youll get the jack stuck under the car like me, matt, and phill did.
I've got full drift, and i'm pretty sure thats the lowest kit around, also i'm lowered like an inch and a half
. I have to get under the car from the back, jack the back up enough that it raises the front enough to get a damn jack under there. Sucks, but it works!
Its hella low, i know that doesn't sound like it makes sense, but i dont even have one fist of clearance under the front, at the apex of the front bumper or under the side skirts. But the back and the back bumper arent quite so low, so i can slide a jack under there, jack up the back, and it gives me just enough room to get a low profile jack under the front
