I get the dynamics of it all (thanks Event) so now I'm wondering how I actually go about making one.
I see that you can buy bar ends with heim joints all over the place. How do I attach that to a bar? Do I have to buy threaded inserts and weld them to the ends of the bar?
Is there a company that supplies those and the bar ends at a good price that anyone can recommend?
her is a web site that has tir rod ends for alright prices,
http://www.stockcarproducts.com/susp8.htm
but you nead to have a bar with female thredded ends at the length you need. (like you said)
you also nead the ends to be conected also (like you said).
what you can do is go to a scca general member meting and ask the people with the formula cars (500, mazda, ford, vee) or anyone who looks like they wont to talk and ask where they get there suplies. they just might help you out with the fabrication of the part and you will have somone there who has mostlikely +10 years of experiance in fabrication of race car suspensions.
just my 2cents
i didnt hit enough conez

Yeah, I read that. That's how I knew I needed the heim joints. I just wasn't sure how to attach them to the bar.
the radius rod will be the easiest to find... alot of sprint/oval/karts use em and they are drilled and tapped swedged rods....
shouldnt need to weld or anything, just screw em in attach and adjust
I guess I need to order up some Helm joints, and bungs for them........ to weld to my Silverado brace

If you go to rodendupply.com, you can actually order the tie-rod tube, pre-drilled and tapped, and the rod ends, and the jam nuts. The whole package is going to cost about $50 (tlked to them yesterday). Drop me an emial and I can get you the detailed parts break down. I am looking for a better cost on the rod ends.
