I know have been driving my car a lot with the GM Blower on it and I am wondering how the bypass valve exactly works. I dont have a boost guage hooked up at the moment and should by tonight but dont understand the bypass. I put my hand on it and revved the motor and felt it open and stuff. How does it work and when is it suposed to work? I feel the biggest kick between 4-5600 RPMs, because I only shift at 5600 because I am afraid to blow my motor. Is it adjustable for more boost at lower RPM?

vacuum opens the valve (like a wastgate) and lets the boost out.....
thats how it works.

But at what RPMs, and is there any way to change it, also can it stick open maybe? Mine kinda feels like it does sometimes.

it isnt rpm dependant , it opens and closes on demand from the vacuum level
or your right foot on the go pedal
Basically... when you can hear the whine of the blower it's closed. When you can't... it's open.
Okay, pretty simple I see how it is. So when I goose it its pushing in boost but otherwise I am "NA". Is everyone running 93 octane with their blowers? I have a mix of 87 and 93 so about 91.

you should be running straight 93 , since you have it avaliable to you
and mixing fuel doesnt work out like you think it does
its says to run 92.. isn't that enough

well considering most states arent using 92 any more , you either have 91 or 93
lol
atleast 91 is all we get
yeah i put the best gas the place has near me, 2.79 a gallon over in maryland...yikes
ours was 2.85 last week, but now its back down to 2.59
Ha, you guys are lucky! 94 octane here is $1.19 CDN a litre.. x 4 to make a gallon. Even with exchange rates, that's steep...
I ran 91 octane... pinged like a mother @!#$!!

try $1.38L x 3.79(US GAL) = 5.23 is what we pay in ontario right now for 91 converted to your format 94 is about 5-10cents more a litre.
