Well my trusty Getrag which has been rebuilt 5 times by Jake Sweeney dealership in a timespan of 2 1/2 months over the summer is now leaking fluid everywhere.
Im about to call up another dealer and have it look at because its still under warranty, but its usually 2 weeks until these guys will take the car in.
I need to keep driving it, but as far as making sure there is enough fluid in the case so the tranny doesnt blow what should I do? I should probabally top the fluid level off but still need to find out what type of fluid goes in.
Everytime they have put this tranny back together it looks like they have used RTV, should it be a gasket instead?, I think its just blown out on the bottom, nothing mechanically seems to be bad with the tranny and the leak doesnt appear to be coming from any seals.

It doesn't sound drivable to me. If it's under warranty and is not drivable, I believe you're entitled to a rental.
I talked to a local dealer about it and hes going to get me in tomorrow morning, guess its time for the jeep to come out of the garage. Hopefully its nothing too serious.

if you are leaking out the bottom of the tranny it sounds like a throw out bearing

What kind of fluid are you leaking?? The getrag takes ATF. Is it red fluid? Clear? If it is clear and straight out the bottem could be what Whore said. If it is red then sounds like normal tranny fluid. I would not keep driving it if it is leaking that bad.

Its red, its tranny fluid,
Going into the shop tomorrow, hopefully nothing freezes up on the way. I pulled the jeep out of the garage tonight, fired right up after sitting a year with some new gas in it
Ill post what they find, I have a feeling its just leaking where the case goes together, when I got it back after the rebuild I noticed the rtv smeared on the outside of the case was very wet like it never set up. Could it maybe be it was never given enough time to cure before they put fluid in it?

My Isuzu does that, but its just a minor seep. Its where the two halves go together right?
The dealer told me theres supposed to be a gasket where the case mates, they they topped it off since its a slow leak and told me to bring it back in Monday when they get the gasket in. If it wasn't put together right to begin with after the 5 rebuilds it took them to get it working over the summer I wouldnt be suprised...
