yeah many people told me having wide tires in winter and going through snow is gonna be rough. But I can see wider tires being better on ice patches since more tread........but I'm not sure if its true about people saying gonna get stuck easy with those 205s????????????
I think you'll be fine. I ran around on all season 215's for a while. Just drive carefully. 195 is probably one of the best sizes for snow tho.
The more important part is having a good tread for snow.

Skinner tires create less friction and carve out a path through the snow better. That's why those little Geo Metros and Dodge Colt's seem to ride like their on rails in the snow, they wear like 165 rubber

Umm, friction is good you want as much friction as possible, friction = grip. The second part is correct tho.
Having good full tread also helps.
Tirerack has some good packages for winter.

My winter tires are 225/45/17 Bridgestone Blizzak WS-50's.
From TireRack...
A wide, low profile or large tire has to "plow" a wide path through snow which causes more resistance. The narrower the tire, the easier you can get through snow.
also, the narrower the tire, the smaller the contact patch, and that means there is more weight per sq/in. Sort of like snow shoe idea, wider tire spreads the weight out more on snow instead of cutting into it, you'll spin on top of it

Because that's how your roll
I was looking down the 17" snow tire route but don't want to switch out tires, if i had a second set of 17's it would be done.

There's no way in hell you should be considering 17" snow tires unless you absolutely have to!!!
Given the choice, I'd be on 14" steelies with 185/75/14's on them.
Can't fit anything smaller than a 17" wheel over my brakes though and can't put the car away for the winter.
Shouldnt have a problem, as long as you have winter tires or at least an aggressive all season tread.
