concerned rim sizes.

come sometime in spring time I plan to get some chrome rims for my car (98 Sunifre GT). But I am corcerned that if I get 17s (which my plan is) I would feel pretty dumb if I hit a big pot hole and damaged the rim since I live in Winnipeg and our streets are @!#$. But if I got 16s I'll be playing it safe and less of a chance of getting damaged............So what would u say is more worth it? Getting 17 and maybe getting damaged with the streets I live in.......or play it safe and gets 16's

unless you plan on running over potholes at 75mph and not slowing down for speed bumps, a 45 series tire (which is what you'll use for 17's) will be plenty of tire.

if your car is not already lowered, please lower your car the right way first or else the rims are gonna look out of place and the car will look all jacked up

theres no need for a tire that big. stick w/a 225/45/17. thats plenty of tire

A 205/50/17 is actually the same size sidewall as a 225/45/17.

Both will fit fine. I recommend the 225/45/17 for summer use though. The wider tread will give you better traction.
