Please post a picture with 18's or 19's on stock suspension so I know whether to lower the 2000 Cavy sedan before or after wheels. THANKS.
search the members section and you'll find plenty of pics.
imo you should lower the car before rims. rims do not effect the ride height if you get the correct tire size. even though the car is at the same height, the car looks jacked up because the tires are smaller than the stock ones
lower it first.

TEMPTING, BUT THANKS (BIG PIC OF UGLY TRUCK)
Check my profile, I have 18" Enkei's with the stock suspsension on it. The gap in the rear is a little bigger than the gap in the front naturally
17's but gives you the idea. I only put my rims on before I got it lowered because my struts were backordered at the time.
you guys say lower your car first then put rims on? why does it matter? would you go 18's or 17's w/ thick rubber with a 2" drop?
i got 18 x 8 rims with 215/40 BFgoorich KDW's doesnt look too bad not as giant of gaps above wheels like dave there but im planning on a 2" drop so whichever way u should have it lowered. i dont think 19's will fit because of the thing below the springs in the back. i noticed it with my 18's on that its like a half inch away from it.

Because look at the difference it made with the springs. I'm glad I got them because I couldnt stand how my car looked without them.
where can i find some 20's to fit my 2004 cavalier i've looked every where and i can't seem to find any that would fit
Lower it first...I didn't...lol
18's without body kit and not lowered
But I'm saving for bags because of the lowness of my kit. I definetly say lower or you will be like me and have a car suitible for mud bogging and off roading

Do you need any more convincing to not put 18's on stock suspension? When I first got my 17's on my 95 I was so excited I put them on before I put my lowering springs on which I purchased at the same time. Drove it for a few days in 4x4 mode... wow was that gay!

It's up to you to decide which you'd rather win.
heh. I had my 18's on for exactly 2 weeks before getting my new suspension installed. I don't think it's all that bad, but it definitely looks much better lowered, even if only a half inch or so. Not so bad with 17's. I think that so long as you've got more tire than gap, all is well.
Seriously though, you dont always have to lower a car for it to look good. I had 225-35-19s so they were the proper size and width and stuff and it looked and handled awesome on my sport suspension. Heres some pics: By the way, the top picture is the newest one i could find, that drift front didnt last long in michigan winters.
