as of right now i have 205-40-17 on my cavi, but i want something that will fill my tire gap some more. its lowered but i still have about an inch or a little less of tire gap. any suggestions would be great. should i go with like 205-50-17 or what??

You seem to have tires that are a bit smaller than recommended anyway, so an upsize would be good. You can see a table of recommended sizes in the FAQs here. Be careful not to increase tire diameter too much, as you would make your speedometer and odometer read slower than usual, and possibly negatively affect your gear ratios.

the reason why you have gap is those tires are WAYYY too small for your car. something like the 215/45 or 225/45's will work better for size on your car.

The size of the wheels (16, 17, 18, etc) should have no bearing at all on the fender gap.

As mentioned above, his problem is that his tires are way too small for the car. Get some 225/45/17's and I think you'll be much happier with both the look and the ride.

White should look pretty slick, and the right black rims might work too. I can imagine maybe being able to pull off bronze or gold, but that's a bit subjective.
