ok so i read the FAQ and it said that for a 2000+ cavalier you shouldnt take the needles off. it says that you should just slip the gauge over top the needles. has anyone tried this. i want to buy a gauge face from black cat but i really dont know what i am doing. any help is appreciated. thanks

I think for an extra bit of cash black cat will send you the cluster already done...
yeah i seen that its like another 200. thats the way i was thinking about going but if i can just slip the gauge face over the needles that would save me 200.

another question i have is if i do get the new cluster is the mileage stored in the cluster or is it stored in the ecu.

For 00-05 it's stored in the ECU.

How come when I put my sunfire cluster in my cav the odomerter doesn't give any mileage?

mine worked i pulled the needles off and everything to put the overlay on...mine is out of an 03 sunfire in my 04 cav

Where did you get your cluster? And would you mind posting pictures? I have yet to see a good picture of what the new sunfire clusters look like

so is it accually that hard to reset the needles or does it just take time (03 cav)
i slipped mine over and they look great
so you can slip them over the needles then capt.
