my new custom exhaust
Thursday, July 13, 2006 9:30 PM
so i got tired of looking at the nasty magnaflow dual cat back system from rk... so I decided to change some crap

I initially was going to do a crossflow set up, but didn't like how visible the muffler would be so I opted to buy a 3" in, and twin 2.5" out on the other side regular straight flow muffler. Its mounted in factory location as you can see from the pics.

details:

Tsudo 4-2-1 header
2.5" - 2" collector moddified to flare to 3"
3" thrush glasspack
3" mandrel bent pipe front to rear
no cat
single magnaflow muffler 3" in
dual 2.5" out tucked behind rear wheel ala 65gto (temporary)

anyway here's the pics....

Cats are required in all 50 states and your exhaust will stink without it.

peformance wise though, it seems like it should be an improvement. any noticeable difference before and after?

I hate to say it, but your car looks ghetto rigged. I'm sure you'll turn it around, but boy, I'm amazed. (I do understand that you did the ecotec swap)
You did say the muffler position is temporary. You going to do the camaro style exhaust later?

slow? Since i believe he's not really all that faster then a stock eco. On top of my 14.7-8's timeslips i have yet to post. Im right there with him. And 3 inch....why? On top of why not just tuck the tail pipes up and turn them down for now, instead of dumping out the side? Just looks.......like your trying to pull a different cars look i guess.

I would get rid of the bends and have it coming straight back, it doesnt look good at all. looks akward, maybe if you had it coming out before the rear wheel it might look good.
