trying for 12's ALL MOTOR!
Sunday, February 21, 2010 5:04 PM
over the past couple months i have been working on some new stuff for madness. i custom built my own equal length long tube header with 1 5/8ths inch primaries and did up a 3" side exhaust. also had the northstar 75mm throttle body flange welded to the ho manifold and made a custom throttle cable bracket for the new throttle body. finally took the 2.3 power steering pulley off the intake cam to. been trying to clean up the engine bay wiring some for a cleaner look as well.

car started right up with the new parts and runs great. me and brad are planning on dynoing the new setup in a couple weeks and i cant wait for the first track day in april. really hoping to run 12's with it.

am buying tein ss coilovers, a lzm solid upper aluminum mount, volk 16" 2 piece rims for it this week, and an AEM underdrive alternator pulley.

here are pics

love the side exit exhaust. the welds look iffy, but i like the runner layout on the header.

Nice work Paul. Only thing I would change is maybe an angle ( slash ) cut on the end of the exhaust

looks good.

If it was my car, i would run that intake into the fender/bumper area and remove the turn signal/ fab up something.

Looks good dude, good luck!

Get some 24.5" slicks instead of the 26"....should help get you come better gearing, plus they will weigh less.

^exactly...stock parts. Just imagine if we had the support and variety of aftermarket parts like honda does. Our 4 cylinders would be WELL know.

Good job Paul........MUCH LOVE.....Im right behind you with a similiar yet more Quad 4 hybrid type going. Once I find a J to drop my motor in.

Get some crank work done and install the W41 cams.....dial in the tune and you will be well there. Im surprised Brad hasn't got you installing a hex on that camshaft

GMR has got nothing on this

Very impressive!!! Mucho!!!

What next? Maybe build your own intake manifold? Something to match the Northstar?

Great work! You should follow the contour of the skirt for the exhaust.
