Been lurking for a while, didn't want to introduce myself without pics.
I recently sold my 1970 Mustang, and put the money down on my first new car, a 2005 Sunfire. It's only a 1SV ("Special Value Package" = no options but the standard equipment), and with my GM family discount (grandfather worked for GM his whole life) I got it for $10,400. I put $3000 down, and financed the other $7,400 @ 5.9%. Not bad for an 18 year old kid, with no credit history.
Anyways, I'm paying this car completely on my own (payments, insurance, etc.). Again, not bad for someone my age, buying a new car completely on my own (well, my dad did have to cosign, but that's all the help he's giving me).
Anyways, looking forward to learning about these cars, and talking to some of you guys.
welcome

I've got a question. I think I saw something about Sunfires having dual exhaust. I seem to be exempt from that rule...any reason why? Is a lack of it part of the "Special Value Package"?

I think it was only the GT models , not sure if the new cames with it .. but if they did you can just hit a bone yard and find 1 with dual, snag it off and bolt it up to yours, all the points and hangers are already there.
oh Yea ..
Welcome to the addiction.

Hit 200 NA it broke once, Hit 213 it broke again,
Hitting 300 NA is further away than I thought.
the 'special value package' is basically stripped of everything. thats why they are so cheap. adding dual exhaust is no big deal though
