THIS SITE WILL BE OFFLINE ON FRIDAY, MARCH 3rd!
On Friday evening March 3rd we will be doing a significant upgrade on the servers that run this site. As such, the site will be down for some time. We will be trying to keep the downtime to a minimum, however we anticipate that the site could be down for approximately 8 hours. We will do whatever we can to keep it to a minimum, however a careful and thorough job is more important, to avoid any data loss.
Once the site is back up, you may or may not notice any significant differences. If anything isn't working properly, we might still be working on it, so give it some time.
I have alluded to this server upgrade in the past when questions about an edit function came up. This upgrade will in fact allow for room to grow and add more features. Our current hardware was running at its peak just to keep the site running as it is. With the new hardware we will be able to expand a lot more. An edit feature is first on the list of major site features, so you can expect to see it soon. Other cool new things are on the drawing board right now.
Please tell your friends that might visit this site, and let them know of this planned downtime.

UPDATE
Downtime is now likely to be postponed until Saturday, March 4 in the afternoon. If the upgrade goes according to plan, the site downtime should be reduced to less then 2 hours.

Thank goodness that I have to do a 4 hour presentation tomorrow and wont be in the office in addition to my hour lunch...This and myspace keeps me occupied throughout the day usually.

Is this an April Fools joke!? And the joke is that it's not on April 1st!!!??? AArrgh.....
typically edit buttons are only valid for a few minutes on some of the better sites to prevent overedits and keep a paper trail. So you could allow edits for something like 5 minutes.
