Honestly, you'll get people saying to look in the kelly blue book
Mods don't change what the car is worth, unfortunately

put it on eBay with a $50000 reserve, start the bidding at $1 and see what the bidding gets to.

I don't see why this would be blocked... i am NOT selling it... i do not want offers... i am just curious... This site is for discussion... that's what i want... and as far as blue book, that is only true if you are selling it to a dealer... i have over $30K into the car... blue book is like $4,000... the ECU alone is worth that... that makes the car worth more just to part it out..lol

^^if you start it at 99 cents, the fee will be 35 cents, then add a gallery picture for another 10 cents. If it doesn't meet the reserve you do not have to pay final value fees. Also, setting a reserve costs extra

and unfortunately that would be the only way to really make back some of what you put into it... parting it out that is.
the highest private seller price you could possibly ever get, is
between 10 and 15k.mind you, thats best case scenario... more than likely you'll have to end up asking less. dont get me wrong, i think its an awesome lookin z (i especially like the carbon flames, i mean how the flames are actually the carbon underneath the paint... cool man.
) but i really dont see it getting much more than that, if even close to those #'s. and most people tend to look at the blue book as sort of a bible when looking for a used car. unfortunately for any tuner of our kind, the cars are worth more when parted out... they look and perform awesome, and who could ask for more than that?... but in the end they aren't really worth that pretty penny we all wish they were.
its a sweet one tho man
If you've in this game for selling the car when you're "done"... good luck!
Don't ever expect to "make" money modding an econobox. It just doesn't happen. Even Mull's car with $100,000+ into it, wouldn't sell for even half that.

Selling A Car:
Selling a car isn't easy either. First figure out what your car is worth, bottom line. Nobody cares what you owe on it, or how many payments are left. They want true down to earth numbers of what the vehicle is worth. Just as with buying a car, take a look at each of the previously stated areas and figure out a price. Start with the Kelly Blue Book private party price for your particular vehicle, and go from there.
We all know you spent thousands of dollars upgrading your car, but I hate to tell you this, when you sell your car, its almost worthless. The reason that it is worthless is that the person who is buying it will almost certainly have to go to a bank to get a loan. When a bank figures out how much money they will give a person, they look in a small (in Wisconsin its yellow) book to determine a vehicles value based on make, model, body style, engine, and mileage. It doesn't say anything in there about that awesome stereo, $1000 body kit, $5000 paint job, $1200 rims, or $600 tires. Its worthless. The best advice to those who have upgraded your cars is to part it out, whatever you can, before selling it. Return it back to as close to stock as you can before selling it. That is the only way you will come even close to recovering any of the money that you have spent modifying your car.
Then, you have to sell it. Naturally the people who are wanting to buy it will want to talk you down, so let them. Slightly overprice your car by up to $1000, and let the people talk you down. Don't go any lower than what you determined the car to be worth. Usually selling your car to a private party will give you much more money than trading it in. Many dealers don't sell the cars that they take in on trades, they bring them to auctions and have them sold. Auctions don't always give a great price, so the dealer won't give you one on a trade for it either.
Overall, get advice from those who have done things like this in the past. Your parents are a great resource, as well as Kelly Blue Book. Check with local and state laws during the process. Make sure your car is legal to sell before selling it, and that the car that you are buying is legal to buy when buying one.
Not sure if this helps but a local guy sold a 00 fully built turbo neon( he had a built up srt-4 motor and trans.)
full kit, custom paint, air ride, and the car had like about 120,000 miles on it, not sure what the motor & trans. had for mileage.
anyways he just sold it for $11,200
hope that helps

So what if the bids go up to $50,000? Then he has to sell the car
I would hope he would sell it for 50, if not hes crazy.

Exactly you have pictures of the car on the dyno please tell what it did.

but you said you'd take it to the track last year - people want to know the results of that visit.

aren't you the same guy that was a d***head with those "billet" cams?? the one that wanted to sell them for twice the price or regular cams?
All I've seen you do is talk but you never showed proof of anything. You claimed to have a 400hp car about 1.5 years ago. Yet no proof. No dyno sheet or anything.
Also being able to handle 400hp is nothing. Stock Ho's can do that. It doesn't add value to your car. Don't forget, it's still a cavy. You didn't change it in a rare vette or something else. It's a cavy with a body kit that as been beat to death. It's worth no more than the KBB value.
