I had an issue like this. Bought a car and the guy didn't transfer the title into his name. It was sold to him, he just never processed the title. Didn't notice until AFTER I got it home. He refused to take care of it, wouldn't sign it, nothing. Ended up having to have the police verify the bill of sale, title, check the vin numbers, and then fill out some forms to take to the Secretary of State to transfer titles.

No other options for you?

I just went through this with another vehicle I had. it was signed in the wrong spot, the lady at the tax office gave me a form to fill out stating I swear that it was an accident and all this stuff, it took 5mins, and then she corrected it for me.

brandon, if you have the newest aim, it saves convoes if you have that option checked in your settings
check your settings under IM logging and see if its checked
if it is, then they are on your computer under My Computer, and AIMLogger
otherwise, they arent saved
good luck

redecocav - im not sure how the DMV works in your state but in cali they keep a digital copy of your drivers license on file. when getting a bill of sale, be sure to get a copy of their drivers license and a matching signature thats pretty much all the proof you need and just be sure to write up the bill of sale using legal terms that are binding and say that it was his intent not under duress to trade you his vehicle for yours, etc. etc. etc.

anyway - have your lawyer send him a letter on legal stationery saying that you'll be taking him to court over this scenario.

not to mention - how stupid do you have to be to pay 578 dollars to replace 1 axle on a f u c k i n g 03 cavalier?!

Well it had to be towed almost 300 miles. lol. I felt really bad for him when he called me that day. I wanted to atleast take care of half the bill (didnt have the money) but not now! I would rather pay the $578 in legal fees than give him $.01.

thats why I really only want to trade off mautofied if its a in-state trade. Saves some hassle.

However, the axle is clearly his falt. How freaking low was he driving? 20psi? I ride at 45 on the front, and my axles are still like new.
