If it's in really, really good shape, 7 grand.
Arounf 6, high 5s wouldn't be too bad...
Is it private, or at a dealership?
Another under 7 is reasonable, 6K is a great deal
Would $3500 be fair for this

Like my 04 Cav 5spd. $10,720.xx window sticker, after a manufacturer's coupon, the extra for the extended warranty [$800] and my down payment of $700 I still walked out for less than window price. But that was with 9.9 miles on the odo :p

For your area, max retail value is $8950 according to Edmund's dot com. That would be for a car in absolute showroom condition. There are lots and lots of Cavaliers for sale, if you can't get that one for a price you like, then keep looking. Expect to pay something over $7000 for a nice one, despite what every one else is saying. Wholesale is about $7200.
