In my lifetime, there has never been a single day in which I've wanted a Pontiac Sunfire, but a one of a kind tuner donated by Dallas Star defenseman Matt Niskanen is almost cool enough to own. Niskanen has owned the 2001 Sunfire since he was 15 years old, and the rookie kept it even after making the big bucks in pro hockey. The Sunfire was given a $12,000 makeover by Niskanen's more famous teammates, and Matt is donating the black and white coupe to benefit the family trust of ticket sales director Matt McKee. McKee died of cancer at age 33, and the team is pitching in by donating memorabilia and personal belongings to help his wife and young daughter.
Bidding is currently at $15,000, but if you're going to drop coin on this one of a kind Sunfire, you might want to be a fan of the Dallas Stars. Besides a tricked out sound system equipped with navigation, sub-woofers and black 18 inch rims, the Sunfire has a decidedly Stars theme. Hit the jump to view a video showing how the Sunfire was pimped out. Thanks for the tip, Scooter!

youd think 12k woulda got some drop springs
the sunfire doesnt look to bad
i kinda like that two tone on there!

Lol, I was thinking he same thing!
I'm thinking they should've contracted JBO members to do the mods! For 12k we could've hooked him up!

I halfway agree with you...
Just not on this car though.
It's not that bad.
come on seriously? even with the giant number 5 and the budwiser logo? seriously.
I think it's pretty ugly myself....especially in it's 4x4 stance...

You really have to take that stuff in context. I mean, it's meant as a Dallas Stars fanboy car. That's all part of the theme, and I imagine the big sponsor stickers on it may have had some hand in the money put into it.
Looks like most of the money was spent on the paintjob.
were the stickers still on the tires? lol
I hope they make some good bucks off of it, because my first thought was to donate the $12,000 instead of putting it into a car.
ya but think about it... theyve already made 3g's off it if what they say and the bidding is a 15g's right now...
all in all... i dont mind the car... but i think they coulda done alot better for 12g's....
What exactly did the money go into?

Paint and stereo, it would seem.

and those do not look like 18" wheels... thats seems like alot of sidewall if the tires are properly sized.

1997 Cavalier Z24 - 15.647 @ 88.02 MPH
Are there any interior pictures of the swampbuggy penguin?
Stickers on the tires still!!!
I was impressed that he drove it on the ICE with skates still on.
it was an automatic...couldn't have been that difficult
lol
Video wasn't there when I first posted it. That's hilarious!
